FANTASTIC STAFF!. I came to Long Beach for a business trip staying at Best Western Golden Sails with their Gov't rate program. Can't say enough about the quality of service at the hotel. The biggest impression i had was on a Thursday morning when i could not find my wallet in my room fearing i had dropped it outside the night prior....I spent an hour combing the room looking for it and could not find it convinced i had lost it- awful feeling! I spoke with just about everyone on the staff asking if they had seen it or if anyone had turned it in. Unfortunately nobody had seen it but all knew to keep an eye out for it if it turned up, making it a priority to find it. A few hours later returning to my room i was greeted at my room by 3 hotel managers saying Amelia the maid had found it in my room while she was doing her daily cleaning! It had slipped in a crack on the chair in my room precariously wedged against the chair back support (and hiding itself really well). They had left it in place and showed me where it was found. I couldn't be happier that it was found! Thanks Best Western for the amazing support! What a true group of professionals!

Highly recommend the Golden Sails for all of your conferences. You will not be disappointed! Really the best deal around

Friendly staff, great location!”. I've been staying at this hotel on business for over ten years - I guess it's time to write a review. The staff is awesome! from the front desk to the waiters and bartenders, you couldn't ask for a friendlier, more helpful group. They'll do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. Location is nice, right on a marina and just a mile from the beach. Great swimming pool and a good exercise room, although they need a new Lifecycle. Rooms are large and all have a mini-fridge, some have microwaves, too. If you're going to Long Beach definitely check it out!

A most convenient, comfortable stay”. The friendliness of the staff from check-in to after check-out was exceptional. The room, with balcony looking on the pool, was much larger than I expected. Room and bath were very clean and the bed was comfortable. I would have preferred a brighter light for the reading I did. The complimentary breakfast buffet had a large variety of food choices. for me, the location was perfect ; between the Yatch Club and airport. The front desk was very knowledgable and helpful with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions for my brief stay. They even kept my luggage and called and paid for a cab when I needed to get to the airport.

The best free breakfast around!”. The hotel was clean the service was quick and friendly. It was easy to get to following their directions. The hotels free breakfast was great. The selection was great and my picky eaters loved it. They had everything imaginable.

"Great value, great service & great people”. If you are staying here make sure you select the government perdiem rate. This package gives you the most for your money. The breakfast and dinner at the Sails restaurant is perfect and convient and the bag lunch hits the spot everyday. The front desk personnel are friendly, helpfull and quick to help in any way. The hotel is located near everything.

GREAT VALUE!. Yes, the Golden Sails is an older hotel, built in the mid 1960's. I have been staying here for years. It's like your favorite old coat; a little frayed on the edges but very comfortable. For travelers who get the per-diem package, I don't think you can get much better. It includes breakfast, bagged lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is a full buffet type and dinner is normally anything from filet mignon for swordfish to surf and turf to fried chicken. The staff is, bar none, the most cordial and professional I've experienced. There may be weddings on weekends and I recommend you get a room in the rear portion of the hotel if you relish quiet.

Friendly & homely place with excellent & friendly staff!. Had gone to Long Beach to attend the AOPA Summit and had a very pleasant experience. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was neat and clean and the food at the restaurant was very good.

I had a great time!. First and foremost, it is a older hotel. But once you get in your room they are nice and clean. The african american lady who works the front desk in the morning was the best! Bottom line if you are looking for a high class place, then go pay the money for one. But if you are looking for a hotel with a clean room, then stay there. Don't listen to the the people on here, you have to go for yourself and check it out. i had a great time there

Very Nice!. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was outstanding, the room was very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional. Our room had a balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard and was very quiet. We would not hesitate to stay there again!

Service is 5 STAR!. I'm giving this a 4 only because the rooms and food weren't much to write home about but what really stands out with this Best Western is the service. It's really what you would expect from a high-end boutique hotel. They are extremely friendly, helpful, and you get the feeling the staff are like a family. The hotel building and grounds feels like a relic from the 1960s but it's so well-kept that it's really quite lovely...it's obvious that the staff takes pride in keeping the place up. I really highly recommend this hotel.
