In Short – In an unusual twist on theme dining, black-turtleneck clad "artists" create works of art while patrons dine, each plastering the cafe's ochre walls with his or her eclectic masterpieces. Sharing is the key to navigating the tapas-heavy menu, which offers finger-food staples such as beef-and-cheese empanadas, snapper strips with guacamole and salsa, and hummus and bread whimsically served on a painter's palette.
OMG... so bad
by happyjme at Citysearch
i haven't been here in few years and i must say their food isn't what it used to be. i like the atmosphere. the arts on the wall are unique. i remembered the food were outstanding but WOW, this time it was BAD!!! i had the variety of tapas and they were all so bad. the only thing i like was the calamari. the waiter forgot about the calamari and we got it for free. i wouldn't bother going back here again.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: service was slow. food was pretty bad.
Food, interior are works of art

I believe the presence of live artists at work makes tapas bar Tu Tu Tango one of the more unique dining experiences in L.A. Located at Universal Citywalk, painters and cartoonists create their masterpieces right outside the restaurant. Art available for purchase, mostly modern paintings, plasters the walls inside the venue. Diners select from a wide variety of bistro-style small dishes, including pizzas, salads and meat skewers. The sundried tomato pizza and tuna sashimi were among my favorite plates. The only downsides to the restaurant is that it is dimly lit, so it?s hard to enjoy the art on the walls, and that parking at Citywalk can run $10.
Odd Server, and missing a great desert

My girlfriend and I used to frequent the location at the Block in Orange, which had the best flourless chocolate cake ever, so when we saw the Cafe at City Walk, it was a no brainer. We were there at mid afternoon, and it wasn't very busy. We walked right into the middle of the foyer, and there was not an employee in site. After a couple of minutes, a boisterous server showed us to our table. He seemed very attentive to my girlfriends bust area, and didn't really acknowledge me. As we sat, we had explained we already knew what we wanted, so he pulled out his pad, and I started to speak and was quickly shushed by the server. His gaze was now fixated on something out the window. As I turned to see what was so interesting, there were a couple scantily clad 14-ish girls walking by. I kind of turned in disgust, and he said "Sorry, but she was really hot!" OK! So we ordered the chocolate cake, and he informed us that they removed it from the menu a while ago, but he wasn't sure why because it was very popular. This happened about 8 months ago or so, and I never thought about writing a review, but I feel it's worth telling, at least for the entertainment value.
- Pros: Wasn't busy at the time.
- Cons: I orginally said the server should get a job at a certain chain with a orange owl as the mascot, but apparently, that name is considered a bad word on here.
