The all-American coffee shop gets a healthy, SoCal slant.. The Scene
Tidy and bright, this nostalgic 1950s throwback emphasizes good, clean fun and fast, friendly service. The red Naugahyde booths, gleaming white counters and vintage Coca-Cola ads are neat-o, but the overall setting is not nearly as detailed as rival retro franchise Johnny Rockets.

The Food
Calorie-laden, all-American mainstays such as meatloaf and chicken-fried steak appear on the menu, but so do vegetarian dishes, fresh salads and "lite" fries--for you healthy eaters. Burgers get a wholesome spin, with the option to replace beef with turkey or vegetarian patties, or grilled chicken breast. The turkey Reuben is a tasty stack of oven-roasted meat, cole slaw and tangy Thousand Island dressing on rye, glued together with melted Swiss cheese. If you must, proceed directly to dessert--the double hot fudge brownie or banana pecan sundae will leave even the most decadent dessert lover in hyperglycemic bliss.
