Good drinks, good service, good food... – I was invited by a co-worker for a little Friday-after-work-relaxing. The fact that Happy Hour lasts until 8 pm is great. Another plus-they serve *FREE* finger food, and you just can't beat that! The drinks were good and cheap; $3 for well drinks! Downstairs was pretty crowded, but we scored a pool table upstairs. It was a little pricey ($14 for an hour) but if you go w/a group it's not bad. Mostly a co-ed crowd (which could be a plus or minus depending on your style). Comfy seating, sports-bar downstairs, clean bathrooms, friendly staff...All in all, I had a great time, and I would recommend it.
Space to the face – This place is very spacious. There are two floors and plenty of bars (getting a drink usually is not too hard). The happy hour is pretty decent and the food was good. At night the places is filled with a younger undergrad to post grad crowd and it is fairly easy to strike up a conversation. There are plenty of billiard tables and plenty of drinks to be had. Good place to go if you are feeling like you don't want to deal with the hassle of the normal hipster nightclub but still want to go to a somewhat upscale place.
Happy Hour Cancelled by Q's!!! – Went to Q's the other night w/ some friends and we were told by the doorman upon entering & by our waitress that Happy Hour was going on 4-8pm. Upon presentation of our bill later 2 hrs later (it was about 7pm) our waitress said she found out Happy Hour had been cancelled today only because there was a ucla basketball game on tv eariler in the day! So we were charged 'extra-full price' for food & drink.
Q's management should try not to mislead their customers!! Plenty of other good sportsbars on the Westside to watch games at..
UCLA's student bodies do their best to outdo each other in this plush West L.A. pool hall. – In Short
Q's is the kind of pool hall where how you look while shooting pool matters more than whether or not you actually make the shot. For the best view of the dark wood island bar where UCLA hotties pretend to watch ESPN while checking each other out, ask for one of the seven tables on the first floor. Or, escape the pool tables and create some of your own action in the intimate upstairs rooms that are tastefully decorated with pressed-tin and velvet.
OK food, great atmosphere – Love the foosball and pool tables! takes a while to get yours. food is ok. I suggest you hang out and eat at the nearby Cabo Cantina and then head to Q's for drinks and to shoot some pool. Great place to meet people and challengers for a game of billiards!
Fun! – Q's is a great place to meet new friends and catch up with old ones. Reserve a pool table and challenge the surrounding crowd to a match or down a few well mixed drinks at the bar. Spacious and tastefully decorated, it's no wonder the line wraps around the blocks on popular nights. I would recommend going on an off night and avoiding Friday and Saturday (when the line is the long and the cover charge isn't worth it). Thursday night is the best since that's when the UCLA crowd goes out.
Great bar -- Great bouncer!!! – This is a great place to hang out! You can trade money for liquor... OR SODA! Plus, the head bouncer guy (named Thomas) is super-nice. Here's a hint: Call him "Tee-Lee" (his favorite nickname) to get in ahead of the line! He'll think you're a friend from college! Kick ass!
Prime pool and people-watching place – This sports bar does it up right when it comes to watching the game, with a good amount of TVs and even the opportunity to select your own channel on one of the TVs. There are also a fair amount of pool tables and the per-hour price isn't exorbitant. At night, it gets packed with UCLA co-eds, especially later in the week, so plan accordingly.
Great college bar – There are always great drink specials and the crowd is all college students. This place gets packed even on weekdays with a mix of frat/sorority people and other UCLA collegiate types. The only bad thing is its proximity to UCLA, but I guess they need a place to drink after losing bad to USC in football.
Great place – I always enjoy coming here for a few drinks, some peope, and good people watching. There's usually always a good looking crowd outside in the small patio/deck area. A good mix between older professionals in Brentwood and the UCLA crowd. Fridays and Saturday nights are obviously busy and require cover - don't really think it's worth it once they start charging that.
