beautiful architecture, great experience, very helpful ushers, very comfortable chairs, very famous theater, more great artists, famous plays
This place shows new releases only but it's a beautiful theater to see a flick in.
Great Venue for Shows. I've been to the Kodak Theatre quite a few times to see world famous plays and have enjoyed the experience tremendously. However, I am very concerned about the seating in the balcony, because there aren't any handrails it is easy to lose your balance and tumble down onto someone sitting in front of you -- hurting them and yourself in the process. On a more positive note, the architecture is beautiful, the chairs are very comfortable and the ushers are very helpful.
Hollywood & Highland's theater brings old Tinseltown charm back to the Oscars and hosts concerts, ballet and other events..
In Short
Since making its Hollywood debut in November 2001, the Kodak Theatre has become the centerpiece of the ambitious Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex. Architect David Rockwell--whose design firm is responsible for several Planet Hollywood restaurants and the chic Chambers Hotel in New York --has created an unparalleled space fit for the most glamorous night of the year. The 3,500-seat venue is uniquely equipped for regular productions, as well as the highly technical demands of live broadcasts.
Great place to see a show. I've seen both Harry Connick, Jr. from the tenth row and Elvis Costello from the balcony and each experience was great. The architecture is beautiful and classic and certainly adds to the experience. The acoustics make every seat in the house a great seat. I hope they expand their bookings to more great artists.
