In Short – While the Los Feliz location is arguably more popular, the lines outside this WeHo tapas spot don't lie. People love the no-corkage fee and the easy ambiance, despite mixed reviews regarding the service. Vintage photographs plaster the walls while the chef stokes a wood-fired oven in the corner. Chattering crowds smear spicy lomo embuchado (dry-cured pork loin) on toast rounds and follow with a bite of Garocha (aged goat cheese). Patatas fritas are pleasantly salty triangles of fried potato, but can leave diners parched. The entrees are also meant to be shared, served…

  44. My waiter was very smooth, said hi, gave me good suggestions, took my order, and then left me alone with my date.
  45. Our hotess was incredibly rude.
  46. The service was terrible.
  47. Okay food, bad service, sort of romantic cozy environment.
  48. Great food, so-so service
  49. While the food is good, the service is awful and the room uncomfortable.
  50. Ambiance is nice, but staff not so much.
  51. Cobras and Matadors were extremely attentive and courteous.
  52. came with my friend the other night for dinner, we had a good time it was a nice environment but really slow service.
  53. Great service!
  54. We spent $130 and had a full glass of wine left each, when the server came up and slapped my boyfriend on the back and told us we needed to leave the restaraunt because people were waiting!
  55. Great, atentive service, and wonderful ambience
  56. The wine shop next door has a strong selection and you're recommended to buy the wine there (put in on your C&M bill) and the helpful, friendly wait-staff will uncork the bottle for you to top off your meal.
  57. The ambiance was fine, the staff friendly and responsive.
  58. The staff is super nice as well.
  59. Everything is quite trendy including the other diners so it's great people watching.
  60. The hostess seemed to revel in her lack of manners and rude behavior.
  61. The atmosphere is lively, with candle-lit tables, great service, excellent food and very reasonable prices.
  62. The food was suprisingly good, the service was adequate and the bill was relatively inexpensive.
  63. The service was terrific.
  64. Good food but HORRIBLE service.
  65. So in sum, good food, terrible service.
  66. The service was good.
  67. the service was fantastic.
  68. The waitress recommended a dish that had ham even after we had specified that we are vegetarians.
  69. the atmosphere is very Spanish, people enjoy their tapas with a nice bottle of wine and are not rushed.
  70. Our waitress was extremely rude and never once apologized for getting our order wrong.
  71. But they are a great staff and the food speaks for itself.
  72. Everything was as expected; delicious food, great service, and hip ambiance.
  73. The service was very good.
  74. could not believe how rude the staff was.
  75. bad service

  1. The servers are all awesome, the adjacent wine store makes it easy and cheap and the atmosphere is comfortable and fun.
  2. Great small plates without the huge cost of AOC.
  3. The food is okay I've definitely had better tapas in other restaurants, but I guess for the price its pretty fair.
  4. Small portions should not equal poor quality.
  5. I've been going to this place since it opened, and I think the food is great for the money.
  6. And I liked the homey-ness of going next door for wine--or not going, and having mineral water, and not having the waiter glare at you because you weren't spending enough money.
  7. You can have a lovely little meal for a very reasonable price.
  8. The skirt steak was pretty good but pretty pricey for the portion.
  9. Asparagus and manchego were nice, steak and herloom tomatoe was the best, salmon was overcooked and the portion was very small considering the price.
  10. Everytime I eat here, there is ALWAYS a huge wait with or without a reservation, so don't expect to have a table for at least half an hour after arriving.
  11. The wines next door are way overpriced.
  12. understand that they are a popular restaurant with good reason, the food is delicious, good atmosphere, the prices are low.
  13. You do NEED reservations (it's a very -ahem- "cozy" place), and I highly suggest spending the 5 bucks to valet park, but once you're there, enjoy it, it's very different from anywhere else in LA.
  14. The food is not only very very tasty, but affordable and unique from any other tapas I've had in town.
  15. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable.
  16. The food was suprisingly good, the service was adequate and the bill was relatively inexpensive.
  17. So, good food, good value, earshattering noise level.
  18. You're one of the best values in town - stay that way!
  19. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it for a nice meal and great atmosphere.
  20. this is LA, and real estate is expensive and hard to come by.
  21. very knowledgable person will recommand you and the prices are very reasonable.
  22. After a huge meal of delight after delight the bill came to less than I would expect.
  23. The atmosphere is lively, with candle-lit tables, great service, excellent food and very reasonable prices.
  24. The food is excellent and inexpensive.
  25. Absolutely delicious and I could have a very enjoyable meal there for a very reasonable price.
  26. don't drink but my wife does and the wine store had a couple decent half-bottles (she's not a lush, so a full bottle was too much) at reasonable prices.
  27. The dishes tasted good, but the portions were miniscule four (pretty small) prawns for $13, five asparagus spears for $7?
  28. This not the best value in town but at least the food was pretty good.
  29. Better that than a place where it is expensive and horrible.
  30. If you have to wait, it's well worth it, as the dishes are delicious.
  31. And it' is not due to the poor kids trying to make a few bucks an hour.
  32. It will be sad to have a very expensive wine over there.
  33. Selection is small, if you do not like pork, it is almost non existence, portions are small, taste is OK but nothing to write home about (I ate Tapas all my life), packed with a lot of people who seem to be there not for food but just to be there.
  34. The food itself is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable.
  35. love tapas, and I'm a huge fan of any place that is BYOB.

  1. came with my friend the other night for dinner, we had a good time it was a nice environment but really slow service.
  2. We had only been there an hour and twenty minutes and still had a full glass of wine left!
  3. Price is reasonable, service is slow, but that is what you want.
  4. The servers allow you to order more food, then within five minutes, they ask you to leave because the next "party" is here.
  5. This place is always crowded and service is sometimes slow.

Used to be great, but Spain has left the building...

by jshaklan

I used to LOVE this place. In fact, I've eaten there with tons of friends and dates and taken out-of-towners as well. The asparagus was to die for, and so were many other things, including the luscious seafood paella. But notice I said WAS. The past year or so, the restaurant has been fiddling with the menu. Paella? Bye-bye. Asparagus? The manchego (Spanish) cheese on top is out, Grana Padano (Italian) is in. Italian? The dish has lost something. On top of that, the menu has gotten smaller. It used to contain more meat choices -- there was some sort of lamb chop in a port wine reduction at one point (amazing!) and just more choices overall. Last night, I had a tough time finding anything I wanted. Thankfully, the cheese plate was delicious, but without the mouth-watering asparagus (why did they "fix" what wasn't broken??) or the paella or so many other dishes I liked to order, I lost the urge to return. The roasted mushrooms aren't particularly great and the lentils, sorry, not exciting enough for a main dish! Cobras & Matadors, please go back to your old yet amazing, flavorful menu! Till then, I'll just have to say goodbye, and I'm afraid I can't send anyone else there either.

So much fun!

by Maya83

We had such a great time! You can bring your own wine with you and there wasn't a corking fee. I really enjoyed all the plates. We asked our server for suggestions and he was spot on. I really loved it! Only thing was it was loud, and it being so small of a space, it kinda feels like you're sharing a table with the people next to you. Which some people actually like!

I would totally reccommend this place to anyone.

  • Pros: Food, BYOB, small and cute

FOOD ROCKS!!!

by iamericwillis

This place is awesome! The one star people should stay home and cook their perfect tapas themselves...or go to Spain and complain about those tapas. Sometimes it's not the staff...it's you.
