My day-getaway for hair therapy

I've had some hair horror stories over the years and dos that are better erased from memory. Kelly Peach is sent from above, finally someone who understands how to tame my damaged hair and give me looks that actually work with at home!
Kelly gave me a Brazilian Blowout on my wavy, fried hair, and I will never look back. 3 months of shiny, manageable hair— and don't get me started on the color. Unbelievable. So glad she made me a convert! She's flies in only once a month, so don't wait to get an appointment. It won't be pretty.
Fred Segal Salon feels like a getaway and I always have to do a bit of shopping while I'm there. For all those meat eaters, Umami burger is pure burger decadence. Yum.

trying to find Eli ???

i did not know fred siegal salon in santa monica was open again ... with a new owner ....if anyone knows a hiar stylist named Eli ... will you please tell me how to reach him ... before the salon closed ... i used to see Eli for my hair cuts and color ... i live in tennessee and would fly out to california to have Eli do my hair ... yes all the way from Tn. Eli was GREAT !!! i would be just walking down the street or in a store or restaurant and people would actually stop me ...and say wow .. i lovvvvve your hair ... and i thought gee .. i love my hair too , but people are actually stopping me and telling me how good it looks and they do not even know me ... sheesh .. haha Eli ..WHERE ARE YOU ??? my son is now attending college in cali .. so i have even more of an excuse to fly out their ..i am calling the salon tomorrow to see if anyone their can help me ... i did not know they were open ... praying that Eli is their !!!!! or someone knows how to reach him !!!! i have read the reviews and saw where hilary does great work on hair and hair extensions ... then i saw another review that said that hilary did horrible work for $1400 and the hair did not match and the customer was horrified ... i almost decided to maybe give hilary a try .. not now .. sheesh that scared me off .. no way ...

Love this salon!

I've been to this salon a couple times now and LOVE it. The layout is really open and airy and the staff is really nice, not snobby at all. I've had a cut and highlights there with a girl named Hilary and she was sooo good! She also did the Brazilian Blowout treatment (I'm not sure that's exactly what it's called) on my hair a few months back and it was AAAAAMAZING!
- Pros: Lots....
- Cons: Far drive for me but worth it!

Nordic Hair Extensions by Hilary Smith

So I went into see Hilary with a short bob (and had blonde hair). I wanted a drastic change- to be brunette with long hair. I was SO nervous, but I knew that it would be a good change. Hilary assured me that the color would be great for my skin tone, and she matched me up to a beautiful brunette shade. I was also very nervous about getting extensions (I had never had them). I was in complete awe by the end of our appointment. The Nordic Hair Extensions that she recommended (and ended up using) were so natural, and easy to maintain. People still don't know I have extensions! The best part about Nordic Hair is that you can re-use the hair each time (and you can keep the hair for up to a year!), which is the grand scheme of things, saves you SO much money. Hilary was so comforting, and clearly knew what she was doing. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair, and I could not imagine going anywhere else to have my hair done. She made sure the extensions and color were what I wanted (ever weeks after the initial appointment). It was nice to have someone actually take the initiative and follow through with their work. Props to P & T and Ms. Hilary :)
