very bad experience
Made Up Service to Charge Money.
One would think the BBB or the Federal Trade Commission would already look into these guys workings after all the negative reviews and complaints.
They made up repairs on parts that were not covered by warranty, $550 later, i discovered the problem was the vehicle's main computer that WAS covered under warranty. Who should I get my money back from? Even from an ecological standpoint, these guys wasted my time, gas, energy and disposed of two perfectly good batteries only to make a couple of dirty bucks.
AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!
Service needs management overhaul seriously. Had 940 am sat appointment for oil change on smart car- went back on forth on the pricing from 180$ and ended up at 87$ - had 940am appointment - arrived at 900 - asked 2 times re; when it would be ready and got it at 1235 pm - tires had too much air/they out in and front license plate was dangling off the car. suspiciously all bookings/billings go thru barbra - think this place needs a major managemet overhaul - disgracefull - but most MBZ dealers/service (have had 20 of them so i can talk), are problematic let alone building such hugh gas guzzlers in 2011.
Managers and Sale Men in BH. I hope that some uper management will get a chance to train some of the sale men who's working in Sale new car dept. how to treat , to be honest and make the customer happy / safisfy after the sale is done!
Made Up Repairs.
I took my car into BH Mercedes July 5th because the check engine light went on. I left the car and took a rental because I had some appts that day. At about 4pm or so I get a call from my service rep telling me that the "relay" in the car was burnt and was not communicating to the part of the car that controls the emissions and that it would cost almost $400 to fix. I told the rep that I needed to get permission from my husband to get the work done and that I would call back.
I got online to research my "supposed" almost $400 car repair issue, and in 20 minutes I found out that the "relay" part cost $14-$20. I called some reputable NON-Mercedes auto repair shops and all of them explained to me that changing that particular relay in the car would take a few minutes and cost me $50-$75 to get repaired at their shop.
I showed up at BH Mercedes about 55 minutes after their initial call to me with a quote to pick up my car without getting the ~$400 repair done. The rep showed he was perturbed with me and then presented me with a bill for a $150 diagnosis fee. After showing my anger and sharing with them what I found out by calling other shops regarding my "relay" repair, they waived the $150 diagnosis fee and told me that if I were to come back I would be charged $150 for every single diagnosis at any single visit.
The story gets better.......I left BH Mercedes and went to Magic Touch on LA Brea and they found that there was nothing wrong with the "relay" in my car like BH had claimed but rather there was a computer glitch in my system. All BH had to do to fix the glitch and turn the check engine light off was to hook their software to my cars computer system and run it through for about 10 minutes. Yes, 10 minutes of BH Mercedes time was going to cost me almost $400!
I left Magic Touch more educated about my car and the dishonesty of BH Mercedes as well as still having all my money in my pocket...Magic Touch did not even charge for looking at my car. THREE months later and my check engine light has not been on since. BH MERCEDES, shame on you for taking advantage of people! And thank you MAGIC TOUCH on La Brea for your time and honesty:)
Misrepresentation!.
When I called to schedule a B-Service for my Mercedes I was told it would cost $470.00. When I checked the car in I was asked to sign an estimate for $658.00.
The Service Manager advised the person had no right to quote me on the phone and that the basic service was less than the $658.00 but their recommended work would total the $658.00 instead.
In my opinion this is misrepresentation and blatant lying to their customers.
Their practice is to get you in their workshop and then up-sell you with no explanation!
Unreliable. I gotta agree with the other reviewer. I went there once and they completely missed the problem and swore I'd never return. I live very close by and two years later went to them due to time constraints and again had a very bad experience. They totally misdiagnosed the problem and charged me a fortune to do it. It seems they try to sell you as much as they can instead of simply fixing the problem. Maybe all dealers are like that. This once certainly is.
If you want to be ripped off.... Tried to charge me $1200 bucks worth of repairs. Went to Yoon's and they did the same work for $220. This is the second time BH MB has tried to rip me off!
