In Short – Up an oil painting-lined spiral staircase is the once-exclusive "Level II" dining room, open to the public following a summer 2005 renovation. Richly colored decor, Friars' portraits and memorabilia, chandeliers and overstuffed booths evoke a royal-yet-contemporary ambience. Clubby classics like Caesar salad, lavender-rubbed rib eye and grilled wild salmon share space with caviar-topped smoked-salmon pizza, tenderloin-wrapped asparagus and Caribbean fish stew. One vestige of the former menu is still available: Friars' crispy corn fries, a signature dish.

This restaurant is nothing to rave about, the meat is always a bit dry, and the flavor is missing. I have eaten at this restaurant about 5 times. Never have I been satisfied with anything.
- Pros: Good service
- Cons: food
