The Scene – Nestled discreetly inside the reinvented Figueroa Hotel, this spot is a refreshing reprieve from downtown's bustling streets. Pass through the historic hotel's exquisitely decorated front lobby and head upstairs to the comfortable yet stylish lounge. The antithesis of Sunset Strip hotel bars like Skybar or Whiskey Bar, Botero offers a mellow vibe, cozy indoor and outdoor seating, warm lighting, moderately priced drinks and old-school Angeleno style--without the hassle of fierce doormen and guest lists. Conveniently located between Staples Center and the Original Pantry, it's…

Went here with some girlfriends last night. Had a really nice and relaxed time. The drinks are pricey, but right on par for LA. Really cool atmosphere and good looking people. It was trendy, but not too trendy. No issues getting in or to the bar. I will be coming back!!!
- Pros: atmosphere
- Cons: closes at 12 on the weekdays

I know "oasis" is used way too much in these reviews, but this sweet spot really does epitomize the word. Tasteful landscaping and round, heat-lamped tables sit around the bar while the bar hangs in the lanai just steps away. Perfect for a romantic cocktail before a play or a downtown dinner, or a more bustling affair of youngsters (USC is nearby) on the weekends.
- Pros: Romantic, Low-Key
- Cons: Crowds on weekends

The bar yet limited isn't too pricey and the drinks, nice pour count. you get plastic barware, but then again it is poolside. great date place... not so much a first date but definitely the ones to follow. the staff is bare bones you order they serve and leave you alone until you want them again. perfect. the bar area and pool is beautiful at night, quiet and romantic. great for two or a party of 30. unpretentious but downright classy... old LA in its grandeur... a step into the past. GO There!
- Pros: ambience, drink pour
- Cons: limited spirits
