In Short
Hardwood picnic tables and colorful propaganda posters from China's Communist Revolution mirror the character of the clientele: informal, quirky and hip. Solo diners can grab a seat at the communal table and chat with the outgoing, attentive waitstaff. With a menu boasting country-style food made without canned products or MSG, the kitchen will accommodate special requests: Sweet and sour chicken can be sauteed instead of batter-dipped and vegetables can be steamed not fried.

I always order food there for lunch, the food is execellent , always hot, fresh and affordable. And get this, the new driver is a girl and she is awesome. Kudos for Mao's, I love having a girl bring up my lunch. Keep up the good work.

I read a review stating "Auschwitch roast beef sandwich anyone?" 10/22/2008 Posted by ChinaWillBeFree "To understand how revolting the Mao's kitchen menu is, just imagine seeing the following menu in a Jewish delicatessen: Auschwitz roast beef sandwich, Warsaw pastrami, corned beef, Rye bread platter, Crematorium Smoked Salmon, Dr. Joseph Mengele Cream cheese, Goebbels Motzoh ball soup, Kristallnacht stuffed cabbage. In glorifying Mao, the mass murderer who murdered over 70 million of his own people, Mao's kitchen's owner is showing how little he cares for the suffering of his fellow Chinese." Obviously this was one very unhappy customer, but is there anything to their claim? I looked up the menu and found "The G*ng of Four fried shrimp - $6" Dear Jake Li (owner) what do you have to say? Do you care for the suffering of fellow Chinese?
