East Coast transplants flock in for authentic Boston-style pizza. – In Short
In an attempt to re-create the pizzas he grew up eating, East Coast transplant Joe D'Amore established this local chain of restaurants in 1972. Today, well-heeled diners scarf down casual Italian classics such as baked ziti, eggplant parmigiana and signature thin-crust pizzas. Pies are sculpted with cornmeal dough, olive oil and "special" water shipped in from Massachusetts. Popular orders include the tomato sauce-free pizza Bianco, grilled vegetable pizza and the substantial Meat Lover's Special.
BOSTON'S BEST - IN LA! – Being 1st generation Italian from Boston, I'm VERY picky about my pizza and for YEARS couldn't find any good pizza worth stopping for in LA. THIS IS IT! When I first heard that they imported their water from Boston to make their pizza dough, I thought: These guys are either crazy or really serious! Lucky for all of us, they are totally serious! Melt in your mouth dough, with crunchy crust that's not over-oily, fresh tomatoes and ingredients, and the best cheese! I think I about fainted the first time I tried it! If you're in the neighborhood of any of their LA locations, I highly, highly, highly recommend you check out what Bostonians have been missing since coming to LA!
