What People Are Saying About Cinema Bar

In Short – The oldest drinking establishment in Culver City may look like your grandfather's bar, with dark wood walls, sullied stools, the world's oldest piano and a decorating scheme based solely on Christmas lights--but don't be fooled. Cinema is packed with artsy bohemian types of all ages who are in search of great music and an unpretentious watering hole to call home. The bar staff knows many people by name, the jukebox plays country and old-school rock standards and the cocktails are stiff and cheap. –
Just a good old little hole in the wall

Rod (the owner) is an old friend and over the years applied his expertise to this venture when he acquired the bar. Lots of great bands and a wide variety. However, The Cinema does not allow for a mosh pit due to the size but the is very intimate dance and the wee bit o' dance floor. Rod has a knack for bringing in very good looking lady bartenders. And if you take good care of them and Rod is not looking, you will get a good pour. There is a very nice outdoor patio in the back were you probably can bring in you own food from any of the local eateries down the street (Carls jr, Cinco De Mayo, Johnnies, or any of the food coaches on Venice Blvd). Be sure to be there when Rod's niece is working the bar. She is both very nice and very exotic. Sorry Rod, your niece is HOT!!!!! If you do plan on having one too many, there are a number of motels within a block or two of the bar.
- Pros: Good looking female bartenders
- Cons: Small but cozy

Great little bar, with a good old local culver city following. Great live music, that gets your feet tapping in your chair till you can no longer take it and your up dancing. Good pours, good prices and afterwards lots of local favorite food joints to quench your hunger. No glamour, No ritz, just a feel good bar in the heart of culver city.
- Pros: small, unique, friendly
- Cons: small, finding the place, no cooked food
