Transition is a mess.
The old owner sold out; the new owners gave up the beautiful building and are moving across the street. They have essentially shut down for a couple months and are not providing any responses to inquiries.

They seem to have it all!.
A great place for any model train enthusiast (regardless of age). From Brio and Thomas all the way up, they not only carry it, but they can answer just about any question you might have. These people know their trains. The displays are great to watch...don't even think of touching, and the selection is great. Come Christmas time, Department 56 is decked out.

Largest Model Train Store in the World....
or at least that is how they bill themselves, but I haven't seen any that were larger or that had more of a selection.
This place is amazing. It is a great place to bring you kids. They had at least 5 different operating model trains running when I went to visit. 10-28-2005. There is the big train that runs on a suspended oval track that spans the length and width of the bulding, plus one for each of the other scales.
The selection of model railroad trains and accessories was beyond compare. They have everything you could imagine, from paster and grass to Thomas the Tank Engine.
A worthwhile trip if just to let your kids see the displays!
