Best mechanic in town

I've been taking my car here for years now. Dave is honest, competitively priced, and does a great job. I recommend him to everyone. Best mechanic in town hands down.

There are only two down sides, they don't replace tires, and they don't have a car service so you'll need another way to get to work, but it's well worth they extra hassle.

Top notch work, done as agreed!

I was very happy to have found Dave Frost, I can agree with almost all of the reviews here. My clutch on my Honda Civic failed and I called the shop I had been using in the past to get a qoute. They told me they were booked up until december 2nd and they would not have time to check it. A co worker of mine raved about Dave Frost Auto. So I proceeded to check his reputation online, always do that no more getting burned for me. Looks good, called for and got an appointment the following day. Dropped off the car and left it in Dave's Good hands, he called me and advised the clutch was toast and needed to be replaced. I checked the Price on his Quote and it was very reasonable, he actually took the time to explain the repair which was nice. The work was completed same day, and the best part was when I went to pick up the car he actually charged me what we had Qouted me, and changed a brake bulb for Freeeeee! I am very pleased with his work and will actually look forward to returning when my car needs repairs. Thank you Dave Frost.

Great friendly auto shop close to Playa vista

I have recently moved to LA from the Bay Area to start a new job here I was unfortunate enough to have car problems recently after arriving. I found Dave Frost's shop on the internet after doing some shopping around to get my car repaired. I had my car diagnosed at a local gas station so I knew what my car needed. I called around for the best price as money is not growing on trees lately. I found his prices to be very fair and he was convienent to where I lived. He had the car repaired in 4 hours and got me back on the road, all in all I am very pleased and will go back. I am glad I found an honest and friendly mechanic close to my new home!

Didn't check coolant when checking car

Took car in for a oil change and ask to check car before a long trip. Got the car back and Dave said it is in great shape. Before leaving saw coolant looked low, but thought Dave Frost Auto know's best it was my wife's car and wasn't used to checking coolant on her car. The car ended up over heating and a bunch of things got fried. Costing a lot of money and being far from home I had to rent a car to drive home while car was getting fixed.

Excellent Mechanic! Great shop!

I was recommended to Dave Frost Auto by a Friend that has used him for many years. I called him and made an appointment to have my car checked as I was hearing some unusual knocking noises and turning up my music until now had not made it go away or cured the problem. (I was hoping). When I arrived at D.F.A. I could see the shop was pretty busy, but Dave greeted me quickly and he went for a test drive with me, he felt it important that he hear the noise with me. We drove around the area and I pointed out the noise to him as we drove. I ended up having to leave the car as he informed me a further inspection on the lift was necessary! He told me I would get a call before 11am with an estimate for the repairs and an explanation of what was wrong. Sure enough I got a call at 10:30 am just like he said. Bad sway bar links was the diagnosis. He said it was going to cost $120.00 total and it would be ready at 4:00pm. Well guess what. At 3 pm it was ready and it cost $118.00. I love it, faster and cheaper. The car works great now I cant hear any noises, although I sort of miss the clunk clunk clunk. Dave Frost Automotive is great and I will certainly go back and I highly recommend them if you want straight talk, no run around and things explained to you in terms you can understand. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
