delicious, friendly, cheap. I love this place! I have been going here ever since I was a kid. They have really fixed up the place and it looks pretty nice compared to how it used to be. I love that they serve vegetarian food! The price is really good for what you get and everything tastes delicious! I had their Jack Fruit curry and was amazed at how it looks like chunks of beef or pork! I bet if I served that dish to my meat eating friends, they wouldn't even realize it was a Veggie dish! The staff is always smiling and helpful and very friendly. I am so happy that they made some upgrades to the sitting area, and to the insides, because I think that some people tend to judge the place solely on its appearance, or that their opinions are hindered by appearances.

I wish the owners and workers of this place, nothing but wonderful things.

the Indian version of the Soup Naazi from Seinfield. I used to work down the street too, i've been going for years but have now stopped. The food is good and was cheap but they tripled their prices on their #1 & 2 combos which used to be $2-3 and is now $6 for a styrofoam tray of food. That being said, I haven't visted much since. I would rather visit other places at those prices and at least have an enjoyable experience. Govinda's around the corner offers a more pleasant experience plus a blessed bugget for $6 all u can eat. The service has always been rude, I have always wondered if it was just me but everyone else that I have heard from that goes there, feels the same way. Almost as if your presence wasn't wanted. They speak english but only when they want to. I had an incident with the younger server last night and will never visit this eatery again. You may have to swallow your pride for this food but in the end, the negative feel will steer you away

Good Food, Always Spills!. I've been going to this place for years. Yes, service is unbelievably rude. And in addition, whenever I order anything, they put it in this styrofoam to go box that ALWAYS spills. I only get about half of what I ordered. The rest leaks all over the place. And when I went back after the 12th time this happened to me, they didn't care about it. They need customer service lessons and better to go boxes!!

good food and cheap. I work close by and my co-workers and I go there occasionally. The woman serving the food is not very nice to me, but is that way to everyone so don't get offended. Regardless, the food is tasty and cheap.

Worst Indian place ever. 1. They cheat. (I really feel like doing something about it, I think others who have xperienced this will agree)

2. highly UNCLEAN, they sell post-expiry date products. Be careful please.

3. They force u to buy products of a certain brand even if u dont want to.

4. the groceries are of poor quality and bags have holes in them, cans are rusted.

5. The food is of poor quality, I dont think they wash the trays ever. I have even seen ants in the store.

6. The seating is horrible, broken benches and unstable chairs. (feels like a rundown place)

7. service is bad, rude..the lady gives weird looks. I have seen them cheating 2 times other than me too.

8. They give less food items than ordered.

I am really thinking of complaining about them. People who have had the same experience, please support by responding.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Indian restaurant serves vegetarian dishes. Attached supermarket sells Bollywood hits, clothing, teas and spices. Outdoor seating and daily specials.

Best Indian Food In Town. Though the place is not very big, you can be assured that the menu is the most authentic around. The menu is entirely vegetarian and very well-prepared. The service is warm and friendly, the servings generous and inexpensive. If you like spicy food, you're in for a treat!

drip honeydrip. Culver City may be in the midst of some weird metro redesign, but India Sweets & Spices stands untouched as one of the area's best inexpensive cafes. Desserts are perfect for sharing (lots of honey and coconut), and the soups and hot tea are also delicious. The outdoor tables get sticky... watch your elbows.

Outstanding and cheap. If you can get into the slummy atmosphere--a handful of worn, orange formica banquettes clustered on a patio facing busy Venice Boulevard--this is some of the best Indian food in L.A. The line for hot food often winds through the store's aisles of imported cardamon pods, teas, and other Indian staples.

Generous-sized samosas are moist and spicy. Onion uttapam-- a sort of spicy fried pancake with cashews, tomatoes and onions in the batter--is addictive. Hearty and filling idly sambar (think Indian matzo ball soup) often boasts just-made idlies (the matzo ball part.) Don't forget a cup of sweet, authentic chai at the meal's end.
