The Scene
The stately, dimly lit front bar boasts red walls, dignified paintings, comfy couches and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Cement floors and a high A-frame ceiling don't detract from the cozy romance offered by a central patio fireplace. One wall flickers with inset candles; iron sconces line the other. Servers are prompt, informed and exceptionally attentive.
The Food
Items on the small, varied menu are skillfully prepared. Addictive appetizers include the miniature salty Cicchetti green olives, deep-fried and served with a unctuous garlic aioli, and the three-cheese platter, which is highlighted by Humboldt Fog goat cheese paired with toasted baguettes and grapes. For entrees, the all-day baked pork rests atop hearty polenta, and moist, roasted king salmon is accompanied by sharp whole-grain mustard emulsion and al dente peas.

Where to SitBecause the dining room is outside, smoking is allowed. Request a table closer to the front if this is a problem--the heavier concentration of it takes place at the back bar, but the high ceilings allow smoke to dissipate quickly.

It amazes me that I saw about a dozen to 20 females who came without guys and their not even looking at guys; they just order some food (which is not bad but extremely overpriced; 5 shrimps $17.00, and thats one of the cheaper appetizer items in the back patio) My friend ordered a black label 2-shot cost a ridiluous $22.00. OK, I know its a setting and you pay for the ambiance, but charging a bottle of BL for 1 glass, c'mon. As I was saying, ladies seem to go there not to mingle but go, have drinks and converse amongst themselves. We offered to buy drinks for two ladies, their response: we are just leaving and they came at 9, left at 10. Why do you come? Suggestion: why dont you go to Denny's?? All the reviews say good hangout place, yeah if you wanna bring a friend, talk to them all night then go home w/ your c_ck in your hand its a great place. Throw in a exponentially high food+drink bill, and your on your way. Not a good pickup scene; again mostly couples going and showing off kisses in the patio (stay home) or cluless weird bimbos who dress the part, but dont act the part. If you love starving over underportioned food and mind-bending charges, great place 4u. The doorman was cool though;(antonio) we went at 9pm got in without a bribe or reservations (3 guys, and my two friends were ugly as hell) no music, no dancing, just a place where people go to "talk". How fun!! I am not a sore loser who got rejected by women who is venting, just trying to save time and efforts for single guys looking for some tail, this is a very hard place to break through. As asual, heavy middle-east influence (cant get away for persians or armenians anywhere) I am armenian born here but still the sight of their cockfest parties, even though my own race I get sick. P.s. order plenty of bread; its free and will ease the pain of your bill and fill you up, either that or order $200 worth of food for two to come close to getting full.

I was so pleasantly surprised to find that my favorite hang out opened for Sunday dinner.It's really romantic and the food is awesome. I love how calm it is on Sunday, it gets pretty crazy during the week and sometimes it's hard to get a reservation, on Sunday that's not an issue. I totally recommend it!
