In Short – In 1984, the first Embassy Suites location debuted in Overland Park, Kan. Today, the property's luxury accommodations make it an ideal hotel for conferences, special events and weddings. All hotel rooms are spacious two-room suites that include a separate living area with a sofa bed and desk, a private bedroom, two televisions, a wet bar, a refrigerator and a coffeemaker. Guests may also attend a nightly reception with beverages.

Not a good experience

We had just come from the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque which was wonderful, so I was looking forward to this stay. I was extremely disappointed when I opened the door to our suite. There was a stale odor, dingy everything, poor lighting, old furniture. I looked at two other rooms to possibly switch to, but all were identical. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was extremely overpriced for the quality. When we went to bed all we could hear was the live holiday music blasting up from the restaurant. I will say the bed was fine, although the bedding was flimsy. We got up and out of there very early in the morning. We were supposed to stay two nights, but found a better place.

This is probably the best hotel in Downey. The hotel has an indoor pool, a nice restaurant, and a very large attrium.
Within walking distance from Mimi's Cafe, Hometown Buffet, Dennys, Togos, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Ralphs and Albertsons supermarkets, two banks, Kirkorian Movie Theatre 10, etc.
