Downey >Pieloon Restaurant
delicious food, excellent prime rib special, great portions, great family place, good service, fantastic specials, super nice staff
Where did the lemons go. SOOOO disappointed. I grew up celebrating my birthday at Pieloon in Downey and always had having lemon meringue pie . I had not bee there for many years and decide to stop by for a while pie to go. I just had a piece... no taste, non of that lemon zing and the top of the meringue was rubbery. It will be my last lemon pie from there.
Great family restaurant. The staff is super nice and the food is just okay...i agree with the other person, not great but okay...i do like their daily specials and the prices are low...the times i have gone it isn't too packed and the people eating are just as friendly, commenting on things i have ordered and offering to try something they ordered....they do offer great portions...
This place has fantastic specials. Most under $10, including steaks, prime rib and seafood. The food is good. Not fabulous or fantastic, but good.
Unfortunately, there is a compromise for such low priced specials. They cut corners here and there. So far I've found the salad dressing to watered down (to the point where it is like fluid) and the Mashed Potatoes are Instant (you know from a box). Which is a shame because the salads have great potential with their crisp leafy lettuce and delicious garlic croutons.
The steaks are good and the Garlic Bread is delicious.
Great family place. My husband and I eat here atleast once a week. Lots of food for a really good price. Excellent prime rib special for under $9 (my favorite) available every day in addition to their daily specials. One of the few places where their breakfast is as good as their dinners. Though be warned, Sunday mornings, the place is PACKED with the church crowd (and that should tell you something!).
