good mexican food, great place, extremely friendly waitstaff, great ive, not big bills, big portions, warm service
Mexican food at it's finest. I've been going here for years and I adore this place. It's ironic that in Southeran California it is extremely hard at times to find a genuinely good Mexican food. You'll either find just fast "Mexican food" like that of Taco Bell or Del Taco or you'll find an uptight, suit and tie restaurant with a paragraph for the title of a dish and with a chef who wants to reinvent the wheel of cooking but still try to keep the essence of Mexican cooking or you'll find a cheap place that tastes equally as cheap. La Paz is neither of these. They usually have warm, friendly service, though at times when I've been there the service is lacking. They give big portions, but don't require big bills. The meal is extremely affordable. They have an environment great for kids and groups. This is down home Mexican cooking with an American twist. The chips and salsa are hands down the best in town. Their burritos are to die for. The place may not be much to look at and it may be hard to find a parking space (I suggest going on a weekday), but the food and environment makes up for all of that.
Best Mexican Food. This is not your usual run of the mill chain mexican restaurants. This is a family owned restaurant that serves the best burritos and enchiladas. I have been coming to this place for 10 years and it never fails me! The waitstaff are extremely friendly and accomodating. They bring unlimited chips and salsa right as you sit down. You get your food very fast and it is delicious! I usually get the chicken burrito or the cheese enchiladas. The fish tacos are fantastic. Great margaritas. This place is great for kids. It is usually busy on Friday nights. There might be a 10 minute wait then, but not too bad. I love this place not only for the food, but also for the caring waitstaff.
Leah. I have been going to La Paz for 33 yrs. It is family owned and everyone is very friendly. I have moved away and every time I am in the LAX area I can't wait to get to La Paz. The Jr. Super deluxe burrito (with carrnitis) is wonderful. (big enough for 2)
