Excellent home-made udon

Excellent udon and other basic Japanese fare like mom used to make back in Japan.

The service is always warm and accomodating. The selections are good for families as well as those who want a "izakaya" feel. My daughter even liked the electronically-enhanced washroom.

• Pros: good traditional non-sushi Japanese food and excellent udon
• Cons: the parking lot can get crowded at busy times

Tasty Chewy Udon - Excellent Value

By far the best value and taste is up there with the best. Nabeyaki udon for $6.95!! $13.50 at another well know restaurant further south on Western/182nd in Gardena. Included is delicious (not mayonaissy) potato salad and takuan tsukemono. Sevice is prompt. Homemade udon is tops!! Tempura is slightly greasy but tasty. Hand written signs with very reasonable prices in a quaint (read: not contemporary) Japanese style restaurant. A real throwback including the prices. Highly recommended. This is THE udon joint.

Solid Japanese food.

The hand-made noodles are the specialty at this Japanese restaurant, but our party of five sampled from all parts of the menu, including some of the Friday night dinner specials. I had the bento box, which included a small bowl of ramen and an assortment of selections from various parts of their menu. It was absolutely wonderful. It was very inexpensive as well. It's not WOW! but it's ummm....good.
