SERVICE SUCKED

WHEN THEIR ON OCT.1ST. I STOOD AT THE COUNTER, AND NO ONE ASK ME "MAY I HELP YOU SIR". ONE GUY JUST LOOKED AT ME AND LEFT. I SAW PEOPLE IN THE KITCHEN AND THEY JUST LOOKED AND WENT ON ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS. ABOUT 1 MIN. LATER, ONE GUY FINALLY CAME AND SAID "YEAH", WELL, I PICKED MY ORDER UP AND LEFT. MY KIDS LIKED IT, BUT ITS OK. THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE,THEY NEED PEOPLE TRAINING!

do not eat at B and R Old Fashion Burgers

DO NOT GO HERE! I had been to B and R before and really liked the place, so I took three of my friends along. We ordered, paid, and at that point one of the three employees calls to the back ?*cough* pen*s burger *cough*, oh excuse me.? I felt like there was no point in arguing about what he had just said. We waited and could clearly smell them smoking out in the back.
The mere insinuation that they had tampered with the food for their amusement was enough to ruin the place for me. We tossed the four meals in the garbage and left. This place is poorly run and disgusting, I highly recommend it be avoided.

AMAZING HOMESTYLE BURGERS

B & R puts out some of the best burgers in the Los Angeles area - wait - I mean on the entire planet!!!! I drive all the way from Santa Monica here for a burger at least once a week - passing right past the over-priced The Counter (always a Best of in City Search) in my neighborhood to of all places Hawthorne (It's a couple of miles east of the 405 on Rosecrans)!!!! I hesitated to even talk about the place for fear of it getting too popular (I like keeping secrets) but then the Food Network went and put it on the Alton Brown show Cooking on Asphalt - so I guess I can let the cat out of this bag too.
B&R is a family run joint - the burgers nice thick patties of beef or turkey and are cooked to order on a cast iron grill - so be prepared to wait the ten or so minutes to get your food. A combo with fries and soda will run you right around SIX bucks - add some of their amazing chili and you are still under Seven Bucks for the combo - a huge bargain in this town!!! And... I have never had them but the breakfasts and made to order tacos look great too.
All I can say... get thee to Hawthorne and treat yourself to a B&R burger - you won't be sorry - and soon enough you will raving about this place too.
- Pros: Amazing Burgers - both turkey and beef cooked to order.
- Cons: Fresh food takes time but it is worth it.
