Cool Owner

I used to come here before the new management. Don't get me wrong, Sam is a great dude, always take care of me and my friends when we go, but he has changed the place that I knew from almost 2 years ago, from a great dive, to a Hollywood-esque fancy bar that doesn't fit in Hawthorne. I used to LOVE coming there on the weekends and after work. But now, I stick to certain other places, with the used-to-be regulars.

• Pros: Great owner, hot bartenders, cheap drinks
• Cons: Too close to a "hollywood" type place where there should be a dive

The most fun to be had on Hawthorne Blvd . . ,

My girl and I just tried this place out. We had driven by it many times and I always commented on the sign. It looked like a fun divey kind of place. Our requirements: 1.) no long drive to the West Side or Hollywood, or Silverlake, 2.) clean bar, 3.) low prices, 4.) drinks mixed with precision and a lotta love, 5.) a friendly down-to-earth staff, 6.) no lines getting to the bar, and 7.) no sketchies! I know, I know: does such a place in LA exist? Listen up, young drinkers in your 20s and 30s! This place DELIVERS! Sam, the owner was amazing--he was hospitable, taking the time to come over and meet us. Tony the cute bartender, can really cut a rug on the dance floor, Leo the DJ will spin anything to your specifications, the doorguy was super-chill, and we all had a GREAT time. We had so much fun that I called five more friends to come over and join us, and THEY had a blast. The best part: every drink we had was mixed perfectly. I kind of regret writing this now . . . maybe I should have kept it more of a secret . . . definitely the coolest bar in our neighborhood.

Best dive in town

The happy hour and regular prices for drinks are the best in town and well worth it. The bartenders are friendly, so take care of them. Always have a great time here and meet new people. If there is a downside, the bar closes at 2am or eventually you have to cut yourself off. In any event, its just old time fun. Oh, and bartender Toni is a hottie.
