Too Expensive and Too Hectic

This hospital is very big, busy, and unfriendly. They care more about shuffling you through the door than about why you are there. The front staff is less than friendly and the doctors are okay.
My pets mean everything to me and I don't think this hospital trully cares about that or me.

What happened to the family vet?

If you like large corporate vets than this is the place for you. This huge hospital has so many employees you can't possibly expect them to remember you or your pets name. They hike up their prices so they can afford their brand new corporate hospital. The front employees are rude, the doctors change every week, and the prices keep going up. I would recommend a smaller hospital with more customer service that is not a huge corporation.

I wouldn't bring my dogs anywhere else

I have been bringing my dogs to Hermosa Animal Hospital for over 10 years now. Dr. Liebel and Dr. Doane are excellent vets - both knowledge and "petside manner" - and my dogs adore them. Their newer facility is clean and spacious. The support staff is friendly and helpful. Both Dr. Liebel and Dr. Doane have performed needed surgeries over the years on my dogs plus are very good at diagnosing issues - they'll ask if you want to take a look under the microscope to see the parasite, bacteria, etc. that's causing the problem. I also recommend Dr. Jacks, but if you can "score" an appointment with Drs. Liebel or Doane I'd select them first. I would also agree with another comment that both Liebel and Doane will not try to push any unnecessary treatments or inflate the bill. Only gripe is I called to get my dog in one Saturday afternoon for what seemed to be a foot infection and I was referred to emergency because they were fully booked. Come on guys, if I’ve been a loyal customer for 10+ years, squeeze my pooch in! That info should be right there on the customer record in the computer. Aside from that gripe - which really has nothing to do with the quality of the vet care - H.A.H. has my unequivocal recommend.
