WARNING...horrible! Especially the repair department

WARNING** - I went to this dealership to get that center light fixed when you hit the breaks. I took some time off of work and took it to this dealership. I walked in and I spoke to the person in charge of repairs. I just asked him if he had the light bulb to replace the one that was not working. And right off the bat, he told me I had to replace the whole center lighting system on the back because it was an LED and it was not a simple procedure, and that they had to remove a bunch of panels to get to it. He then ducked out and and returned with a screw driver/phillips ( I don't remember ) and started to toy around by the lights and fixtures after opening up my trunk. He said it definitely needs to be replaced.He said the light replacement itself was $65 and and that the labor was going to be around $200-$300, depending on how long it took them to dismantle everything to get to the LED light fixture.
Now, mind you, this is the head of that department. I didn't know any better, so I decided to get a second opinion. I found a VW repair shop a couple of miles away and asked them to look at my problem. That mechanic popped my trunk open took a look at some wires and then asked me to hit the breaks...He says casually that, "it's working! It's fine. Just a loose wire."
Just a loose wire?? Are you kidding me?? If that is the head of the repair for Pacific Volkswagen, then I highly recommend that you DO NOT GO THERE!!
It's bad enough that we have to go to certain people for for their expertise and hope to not be taken advantage of. I think we all have that fear when we go to a car dealership or mechanic. I'm just happy that I didn't cave in and let Pacific Volkswagen just do the work because I couldn't take more time off of my job. DO NOT...I REPEAT...DO NOT GO TO PACIFIC VOLKSWAGEN...ESPECIALLY TO THE REPAIRS DEPARTMENT!!
