The Scene – Thumping Top-40 tunes provide the backdrop to a multiethnic drinking and dining experience. The large bay windows, hardwood floors, high ceilings and wood tables create a pleasant ambience as crowds gather throughout the night. The bar fills up with waiting patrons, indulging in anything from beer and premium well drinks to, of course, hot and cold sake. Despite the "club" reference in the venue's name, there really isn't any dancing--it's more about meeting and greeting new friends. – – The Draw – You've got your surf rats, your beachcombers and athletic…
they should just stick to being a bar.

I was really hoping to enjoy this restaurant, but sadly I didn't like anything about it. I have tried just about every sushi place in the area, and Club Sushi is one I won't go back to. Granted, it was during a packed St. Patty's Sunday, but it was so loud I couldn't hear my partner talking to me across the table. It kind of reminded me of a European dance club--old played out hip hop turned up so loud the vibrations move your legs so you don't have to. Anyway, I ordered yellow tail sushi, tuna sashimi, a california roll and rainbow roll. The sashimi was mushy and disturbingly warm. The rice in the rolls was hard. The yellowtail was pretty tasty, but that's pretty much it. My boyfriend got the pan seared tuna with potatoes and I thought he was going to keel over and die after one bite because it was DRENCHED in wasabi sauce. I nibbled on the asparagus...that was basically the only edible part. I usually find restaurants staffed with youngsters tend to be sub-par. The waitress was not really with it the whole time (and it was pretty busy) but yes, I actually did want to try dessert, thanks. Maybe it was best that I was spared. But the beers were good.
- Pros: good location
- Cons: crappy food

I was never into Sushi, until I came here. I had the California Roll(s); it was GREAT! I love how it just melted in my mouth- like buttah! I highly recommend the New Zealand Baked Mussels (superb!). Best Sushi spot in the South Bay area!
- Pros: Great Food
- Cons: Loud
Poor Quality Sushi & Awful Service

I had dinner at Club Sushi tonight and the salmon tasted very fishy - as if it were sitting there for several days. I told the management at the restaurant about my experience and he only offered to take a beer off my bill, instead of the $14 sushi roll that must have been last week's catch. Would not recommend.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Not fresh sushi. Unhelpful management.
The Details on Club Sushi
When to Go:
The kitchen closes at 10pm, but the sushi bar stays open later, depending on demand. That means the place is usually hopping until at least midnight.
Look Good:
The dress is casual, but not that casual. While this is a beach hang, management stipulates no bathing suits or roller blades allowed. The later it gets, the more people dress to impress.
