Cheery mini-chain specializing in gourmet comfort food, and eclectic take-out.. In Short
It's almost like sitting in someone's kitchen--chaotic, communal and appetite-stimulating. Homey dried flowers and hanging baskets feel familiar but the ingredients from this pantry are impressively foreign. Stuffed cases of gourmet goods line the casual-chic dining room, with sturdy wood tables and paneled windows. A vast sandwich selection like the Brie with balsamic and mixed greens are popular items, as are salads like the tangy green apple, chicken and yogurt. Take-out dinners feature chicken entrees with sides of grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes.

Great Breakfast/Brunch in the 'Bu. This place has a killer breakfast/brunch menu. Incredible pancakes, a great lox platter, pretty standard breakfast fare, but a really cool atmosphere and a great place to get it. A lot of people head to Coogie's for the breakfast thru lunch scene, probably mostly in hopes of catching a celeb or two, but I like Marmalade a lot better. Much more laid-back, a lot less pretentious and the servers are infinitely nicers than those at Coogies. Definitely worth a try.

Average food, busy restaurant. The food was average, service ok and the prices were high. Location in Malibu tough to get around with the construction -

Over rated.. Interesting ambience but food was terribly salty. Enough to hospitalize anyone with high bld. pressure. Wait for food was long, to say the least. If you want a salad in Malibu, I prefer Coogie's. Wouldn't go back.

Salads are Fresh, Consistantly Good, Great Value. Tremendous following. Salads worth the drive to Malibu. Great place to "people watch". Try their Cobb Salad.. (suggest asking them to mix it for you)
