One of the best in Malibu. One of my favorites in Malibu. Tucked in the back of a shopping center it has a great view of the Cross Creek stream and reserve. A favorite of us locals.

Friendly staff and excellent service. The food is generally good. Pasta lovers will find a home here. I often order the breaded veal. Prices are a little high but reasonable given the service and the quality of the food.

Lacks class. The food was horrible!!! Last night my boyfriend and I ate dinner there expecting it to be romantic... but all we got was awful service and old food... We ordered Polenta with wild mushrooms for an appetizer.. Something that has most certainly been good at every other restaurant.. the portion was very small and over priced.. not to mention bland.. They just hydrated a bunch of dehydrated mushrooms and slapped it on top of the polenta with no sauce or spice... The polenta itself was hard and chewy unlike any polenta I have ever had... Thinking that we had just ordered the wrong thing we were all too eager for our main entree of Salmon Ravioli in vodka cream sauce to arrive. I took one bite and looked up to see my boyfriend making the same awkward face at our food... the salmon tasted fishy and I'm quite certain it had gone bad.. We took only a few bites before sending it away.

Instead of causing a fuss we just got up, paid and left.. Our waiter had already been ignoring us for awhile.. He gave us a wine menu and then never came back to see what we had picked.. The table was the worst part.. it was so close to another table that when the waiter/bussers came over to help the gentlemen next to us their butts would protrude over onto our table... literally hovering above our disgusting food... The whole experience was bizarre.. I don't know why anyone would want to waste their money eating there.

In my opinion Guido's lacks class and is in need of a few new chefs... I'm a local of Malibu and have been for 21 years and I would recommend a handful of restaurants in the area before settling for this place based on price and dining experience.

Great Italian, Old Ambience. This is a great little place tucked back into the corner of the Malibu Country Mart. If you go with a big group or on a weekend, definitely make reservations. The pasta is pretty great, as good or better than any Italian place in the area. The tortellini there is definitely my favorite. It definitely feels like a place you would see some old retired Malibu elite. But for all that, it's not my favorite Italian place in the area, something about the feel of the restaurant is a little off to me. I don't know why it just kind of feels like Luby's or something when you're in there. This is probably just me, and doesn't change the fact that the food is great. Just a weird feeling I've had there. Service is still great, and other truthfully nothing really to complain about.

Love the Osso Buco. Guido's is another one of those great restaurants in Malibu that make you feel right at home. They always try to accomodate you when they can, reservations recommended, and the atmosphere is open and friendly. The food is wonderful, and I love the Osso Buco. I think the chef is great with sauces, so any of the specials are usually amazing. The prices are pretty steep, but well worth it. We just love Guidos. No parking problems, and before dinner, take a walk through the pet store....

Best Tortellini I've Ever Had. Best tortellini I've ever had...hands down. Probably the best lasagna I've ever had, as well.

Their strength is pasta...so don't even bother with the meats. This place's pasta is absolutely unbeatable.

yummy bread, good view of the ocean!. Guido's was recommended to us by an Italian that said it could rival the pasta we had in Florence. For starters, the bread is warm and fresh and the calamari had a just-right coating. The pasta arrabiata and pizza were great! The crust on the pizza was not as thin as we like but still delicious. And the pasta was as good as the one we had in Florence. Will definitely go back - for more pasta and to try their desserts that looked delicious!

Vintage-style restaurant where diners savor authentic Italian-American meals.. In Short
Both locations, in Santa Monica and Malibu, have an authentic early '50s vibe that almost convinces diners that Frank and Dean are still knocking back martinis in the corner booth. Mood lighting, vintage Italian posters and dark wood enhance the scene. The Caesar salad is prepared tableside, and the fettucine with roasted veal is served in a beef meat sauce. Handmade ravioli--in tomato sauce and stuffed with spinach and ricotta--and the veal alla Milanese are other choices.

Best of the best. Best dining experience in Malibu. Service is teriffic...real Italians for this Italian Resturant. Menu is great and reasonably priced and the specials are to die for, ie soft shell crabs in a wine sauce. Some good but inexpensive wines. Nice view of Malibu Creek. Ample parking.
