Fresh seafood at a fair price. Super casual with outdoor picnic tables and BYOB.

More casual than anything, but good flavor.. First of all if you come here there's almost always a line and parking isn't the greatest. That being said, moving onto the food, which is actually pretty good. Came here with a few friends and we ordered a variety of things off the menu, steamed shrimp, their ahi tuna burger, some of their main dishes and also the clam chowder. The fish have great flavor, they taste fresh and really light, just how it's supposed to. It's a small place, but if you don't mind a wait it's a nice place to stop by for a casual lunch.

Awesome!. I shouldn't write a review for them, they are already very busy, but anyway they deserve it. The fish is the freshest you can get and being close to the beach is helpful to make the experience a good one. if your looking for something fancy, don't go, since this is a self service restaurant.

Ocean View lunch. On a recent saturday my boyfriend and I took a drive out to malibu. We stopped at Malibu Fish and Seafood for some fish and chips. This is a total no frills place, no alcohol but you can bring your own, sit at one of the many picnic tables and have a view of the ocean. They have a nice variety of items on the menu and if you are inclined you can also purchase some fish for later.

Fresh fish for less and you're right on the Pacific. This place is no frills. It's just grilled or fried fish and shellfish. It has picnic tables with breathtaking panoramic ocean views. Get there just before sunset for a special treat. You can bring a table cloth and bottle of wine or just go natural. ;)

Most negative reviewers are not taking into consideration that this is not one of Malibu's expensive restaurants, it is a fish market that also cooks fish. Nothing fancy but it's all fresh and all good. if you want more salt and pepper in your clam chowder or on your fries than just shake some on people! Sheesh! I guess if these people don't really like Malibu fish & seafood than that leaves more room for us that do.

Fresh seafood, casual atmosphere. If you appreciate fresh seafood, you'll appreciate Malibu Seafood, if you want a fancy 5 star chef/restaurant go down the street. They are 1st a fish market, they sell fresh fish straight from the docks - order the fresh fish. That's why they're there. They started cooking the stuff they sell, then they give you a picnic table to eat it at. When the crab is in, buy it. It's grand. Their rice pilaf makes a great addition to the crab, the lobster. Just like the fancy restaurants, you can pick the lobster you want. I think people expect a 5 star chef because it's in malibu. Not here. It's a fish market. Understand that, you'll understand the appeal. It's good, fresh fish. It's that simple. That's why there's a line.

Average and overrated. I can't for the life of me understand why this place has such a great reputation. The food is totally average & greasy seafood. The prices are high when compared to the portions & the lines are atrocious. This is just one of those places that gets a good reputation for no real reason & people just feel like they have to say it's good because everyone else thinks so. Totally average food with decent views of the ocean, if that's your thing.

Perfect lunch place for a weekend beach outing. This is a great stop-in for lunch on a beach day. The food is always consistent and what they lack in variety they make up for in freshness. I've been several times and have never been disappointed. If you go during the lunch or dinner rush, you can expect to wait a while, but with nice picnic-style open seating and good views of Zuma beach there's plenty to occupy your time. Their lot is definitely small, and I would recommend just grabbing a free parking spot along PCH, but other than that a good place with great views that won't make your wallet suffer.

picnic like atmosphere. Not a regular restaurant. Just a shack with some patio dining and covered outdoor tables not conveniently located to where you place and pick up your order. Parking was extremely difficult and fee parking only on the side. Restrooms were located in a separate building outside the restaurant and fish market. We did not bother eating in this picnic style atmosphere but there were crowds of people waiting for what looked like greasy fish and french fries. There are much better places with a view of the ocean.

AllWas Great Except For The Fat Ugly Lady At The Pick-Up Window. I have been to this location at least 50 times in the past. It is usually perfect. I took my wife there today and spent $50+ for lunch for the two of us. My wife thought I bought her an ice tea as I did myself but the cute counter gal didn' put it on our bill. As we were waiting for our food my wife went to the pick-up window and asked to get the ice teas. The Fat Ugly Lady At The Pick-Up Window gave them to her. When I went to get my food The Fat Ugly Lady At The Pick-Up Window asked to see my receipt. Not knowing why I handed it to her. She spent 3 minutes berating me on the fact that I never paid for the second ice tea. What a low class way to handle any customer especially one that has been there as much as I, not to mention the referals I've made. It was a beautiful day and the food was good though.

Perfect. A must.. Love it here! This is exactly what its name implies: great Malibu seafood, always fresh. My family and I go here in the summer, bring a bottle of wine (because you can), and sit outside on the patio. It's so relaxing, since it's right by the water. Don't expect a classy place, because you won't find it here. This is just real seafood at a real place. This is a Malibu must for seafood lovers and the like. You may even see a dolphin or two. ;)
