Avoid like the plague. Great ocean view but just have a drink and then leave. The food is terrible (and I'm being kind.) If you insist on a meal order a salad. That bad.

How can people pay for this food?. This place has to be the most overrated restaurant ever. Having lived in Europe for such a long time I was really looking forward to moving back to LA/Malibu for the food. Because you can get some amazing food here for half the price of what you would pay in Europe. This place however has the worst food in Malibu. Stay away from the pasta, I don't know what the management thinks but there is nothing good about the food here.

Delectable fish. The patio offers a glorious view on Malibu beach. I would highly recommend the place for dates and romantic dinners. I went there for an early dinner with a friend on a sunny day. It was not crowded, the atmosphere was very pleasant and mellow. I would highly recommend the salmon in a tasty spinach sauce and steamed veggies. My friend had a hearty chocolate cream cake for dessert which came beautifully arranged and generously decorated with chocolate pieces and cream. A perfect work of art! The service was attentive and friendly.

Best place in Malibu to eat.. I don't know what the other guy was talking about.If they served the crab cakes like that they would have a C in health, but according to me they have an A. I checked their kitchen it was clean ,had very nice employees, and they cooked food perfectly, the exact way it should be, not frozen then microwaved. The customer service is also fantastic. I went there in Summer and it was packed and they still served me perfect. The location is right across Zuma beach so when you are on the beach the view is gorgeous. Finally the food,like I said, it is the best place to eat in Malibu. Their are so many popular items on the menu, chicken marcella,languinian clams, the chicken chop salad, and they are all so delicious. I highly recommend you should come here whenever you;re in the area.

Disastrous Service and Disgusting Food. Spruzzo has a beautiful location - it's right across the beach - and beautiful staff (everyone looked straight out of a romance novel, particularly our waiter... or maybe make that "waiters", as we had about three, all hurried and unattentive, serve just myself and my fiancee). However, the scenery inside AND outside couldn't make up for the unfortunately dissimilar, disastrous food. I ordered crab cakes, my favorite, and they came so greasy and spongey, I couldn't finish. There was not even any crab meat in them! They were obviously defrosted, microwaved and served at a delicious-looking price of $8.95. In this case, you get LESS than what you pay for, folks. This place solely survives on its prime location and the fact that it's a rarity in terms of finding Italian food on the beach. So, if you're looking for a bite, trust me, there's nothing on this menu that you can't find elsewhere. Take my word for it!
