Worst Place Ever - Bates Motel of Malibu. All the four start ratings in this review are assigned by the managemt of this "motel" - actually visitors should rate the place with minus stars. Stopped and left, it cannot be get any worse, motel in Kurdistan may be better. Smelly, dirty, stinky !

Management, please wake up!!!. I am not here to bash the motel. It was really bad. It is a real comment, management.

I was there over the weekend last week. I felt sick looking at the room, I had to throw my money and get out.

Have you actually cleaned the room? To me it didn't look like you have . It is way too filthy. It is not about how expensive/cheap to stay. If you run your business, especially hotel business, you should care more about the customer. You said you take pride in your motel. But your rooms are letting you down so badly.

First, let's start by baccuming the carpet. Again, I feel bad that place is called Malibu.

WORST MOTEL EVER! KEEP DRIVING. I would have rather spent the night at the Bates Motel!!!! Not only was the bathroom growing fungus, none of the electricity worked, toilets were busted, there was old molded food under the furniture and a foul order all around. You can tell all the doors were bashed in a 100x. And that was in more than 2 of the rooms we kept switching to! The workers are creepy and I feared sleeping there. Stay away from here!!! New Management, Newly Remodeled- yea RIGHT!! This place should be boarded up and condemned!!! Beyond HORRRRRIIIBBLLE!!!! Keep Driving!!

management response II. Well its October 2007 and so far six of our rooms have been completed with new 16" X 16" ceramic tile flooring wall to wall. New window treatments are horizontal louvered blinds, provide privacy and an elegant look . Its been said our room could be considered 'hypo allergenic', but I dont know if I would go that far. Just plain 'clean' is more like it. We value our customers opinions of our establishment, and thanks to web sites such as this, something we never had to go by before, let us know how badly some people felt about staying here, and has allowed us to continue to make the changes necessary to become a desirable place to stay. We thank all that have left comments, and hope comments continue to improve. Thank you. Management

just keep driving!!!!! or run away!!!. I cant believe this place was in malibu! The office smelled like urine. The heater was ran on an ext cord that was melting the carpet and smoking. The doors look like they have been kicked in 15 x's. The sheets look like they are 40years old (esp with the crusty stains and foul odor). Trust me if u go here u will want to bring a lot of beer b/c u will not want to remember it!!! trust me

This is my first time rating a hotel>> This hotel was bad enough to get on here and rate it>> (and i have stayed @ a lot of hotels)

This place should be shut down!!!!

The new Riviera. As of October 2006 all the rooms at the Malibu Riviera have been renovated completely. Re-grouted showers, Ceramic Tile Bath Room flooring. Instant hot water at the shower. (Takes about 12 seconds for hot hot water.) Each room has it's own back patio. There is a beautiful 60' waterfall to enjoy. Please come back and try us now. I'm sure you will appreciate the improvements. New Management.

Ick. Ever go to TJ for spring break? It's Pappas and Beer (is that even around still? am I dating myself?), te-kill-yah, and fish tacos from a street vendor. The motel you take your chance on? Well, you're a college kid afterall and how much time are you really going to spend in your room? And the few hours you pass out, how much will you really remember? Well, welcome to your overnite experience at the Riviera. You'll wish you were too drunk to care (or remember) that the rooms smell like smoke, the sheets are well, hopefully the bleach has killed everything, and you have 20 minutes to burn before your shower heats up in the morning. I could go on but I'm limited to 150 words. I just couldn't believe this place was in Malibu! Just because the name sounds french...well they hate Americans, don't they?
