In Short – Crowds of lean-bodied gals, Manhattan Beach mommies and surfer dudes fill patio tables. Inside, wooden booths and counter space create a casual coffee-shop atmosphere. Breakfast is the main draw, with large omelettes, a variety of pancakes and French toast. At lunch and dinner, salads and sandwiches are served alongside comfort food like popcorn shrimp and hamburgers. The French onion soup is a house specialty. –

Food OK But!

by SpintoKnit at Citysearch

First time visit. Reviewed all ratings. Really looking forward to visit. Waiter screwed my order up. Finally when I got the right order after everyone at the table had finished. No appoligy , also readjusted the bill so it was a higher price, no coffee refill for people waiting for me to finish.. Needless to say won't visit again.

  • Pros: near the beach, fresh food, good service
  • Cons: none that I can think of

Fun 24 hour cafe

by sannemichelle at Citysearch

Though the food is not spectacular, it is the fairly easy-going vibe and breakfast-for-dinner-at-one in the morning that gets the crowds here. Waiters and waitresses are hit-or-miss in terms of personality and dependability, but usually it's a good experience. I wouldn't go for anything ornate or even ambitious. Try pancakes, eggs, french toast, or dessert. Some salads are good and you can't go wrong with grilled cheese or mac and cheese. Kids love chocolate chip pancakes and big fat french fries. I see someone I know literally every time I am here--it is a Manhattan Beach staple.

  • Pros: Fun!
  • Cons: Not gourmet
