In Short – Burnished brass and stained wood complement roughly mortared brick and the occasional plant. Amid ubiquitous earth tones, corporate types and small parties (celebrating or simply living large) occupy deep booths done up in fine upholstery and lit from above by pin spotlights. Burgers, prime rib and steaks are the specialties of the house, but the menu also includes salmon, salads, pork chops and roasted chicken.

Take Out Arrogance

What a disappointment when it comes to take out. The wait is often long so I called for take out and was told by a sugary sweet voice that I was more than welcome to order take out while I wait at the bar. Clearly a ploy to sell drinks not food. When I followed the voice's directions after being assured that the wait for take out once ordered would only be "9 or 10 minutes" and I complained after 20 minutes-no sympathy, just a smile. No thanks!

great ribs

I really like Houstons. The fact that the food is so consistent and that the value for the meat is so good keeps me coming back. My favorites are the ribs and the filet. My boyfriend loves the Tbone. We also always get the strawberry shortcake when it is in season. I also like the decor- it gives off a little bit more of an east coast vibe and is cozy. The service is always friendly too. A definite recommendation.
