The Scene – For more than 30 years, this lively eatery has been a local favorite, blending sophisticated bistro fare with beach-y elegance. An updated modern interior sports startling red walls and banquettes under an arched cerulean ceiling, reflecting ocean light with plate glass and mirrors. Brazilian jazz segues into pleasant European electronica beneath the buzz of the casual but fashionable crowd. – – The Food – Haute French Provencale food is authentic and artful, complemented by a perfect balance of Tuscan dishes and market-fresh California stylings. Barramundi was raw! Rushed by waitstaff
by ddarr
We ate here for our anniversary and had a 6:30 reservation. We felt rushed by the waitstaff as they tried to take our drink order the second we sat down and brought out our entrees as they were clearing our first course. The appetizer (tuna tartare) was very good, but our entrees were just so-so. Unfortunately, my fish (the barramundi) was not cooked at all and completely raw in the middle which I have never had happen at a restaurant. We had to send it back and it took them 10 minutes to bring me a cooked version, by which time my husband was finished with his entree. His steak au poivre was good but the barramundi was very bland. The restaurant did not comp us anything for the screw up. For $186, we will not be returning.
Eat like royalty for a reasonable price. Is it possible?

I have been looking around for good food, and good deals, and thought the rough economy might produce some. I was right! At least this restaurant.
My wife and I tried Cafe Pierre, because of an article I read awhile back. Now, she started out skeptical as with most of my choices, but was immediately impressed with starters. The Foie Duo was out of this world, and a perfect balance of flavor for the skeptic.
The service was nice enough, but we never got too interested in conversation as we devoured what was in front of us.
I had the Wild Boar Pasta, sounded different, and I have to admit it was. I can't really explain, except by saying it was new to me. Maybe, it was how all the flavors blended so well together, but I felt like I could taste so much in one bite.
My feasting partner was equally impressed with her Tai Snapper, though she wouldn't let me taste any. A first.
Anyway, after cleaning our plates , we could only squeeze in one dessert between the two of us. We had the Remi Apple Tart, named according to our server, after the chef, At this time it was predictably perfect, and I can still taste it as I write this. Good job, Cafe Pierre!! You made this a special occasion.

The food and service at Cafe Pierre are great! It is my go to restaurant when my boss is in town, or my picky aunt.
Always a great spot for a wonderful glass of wine, and a great meal.

- Cons: none!
Love it!

My favorite splurge restaurant in town! The food is diverse and consistently wonderful. I also love their wine list, unlike many other area restaurants in the area I appreciate that Cafe Pierre offers a wide regional selection of wine at a semi decent price structure.
My only con is that on a weekend it can be down right noisy, but even then I enjoy my time here!
- Pros: Lovely, diverse, consistent
- Cons: loud
You need to try Poulet a la Mourarde
