Down home Italian. I had a bad experience at Mama D's about five years ago, but after living in MB for a while, I decided to give it a try again. Since then, I haven't been disappointed with the food or service. The waiters are very nice-- ask for your name and introduce themselves-- and they also pass out free samples of appetizers while you wait. I recommend the Lasagna! It's yummy.....

Best Pasta in Manhattan Beach. This popular Italian eatery serves up an extensive menu, including a Build-Your-Own pasta, pizza and calzones, and tasty chicken cacciatore dishes. Oftentimes crowded, this restaurant usually has a line out the door, but the reliable waiters, delectable dinner, and friendly atmosphere are certainly worth the wait.

Friendly place for a dish of pasta. They love to make you feel like family at Mama D's. It's really not the greatest Italian food though (as an Italian kid from NY I've had much better) but don't let that stop you...it's a great experience and if you're craving Italian after a day at the beach it's a perfect spot for some spaghetti and meatballs...

I love this place. whenever anyone mentions itallian food I Imeadiatly crave Mama D's. The staff is so friendly and efficitant, the food never dissappoints, and the price is so reasonable. My girlfriends and I eat here whenever we are in the area. I highly recomend the tortalinis in the signature pink sause.

Awesome!!!. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the South Bay. We are locals and have tried lots of restaurants in the area and we always go back to Mama D's. The pink sauce is a must have. YUMMMM!!!!!

Cozy Manhattan Beach bistro for family-style Italian fare.. In Short
This modest, Old-World Italian joint stands out in a neighborhood studded with fancy eateries. Chattering couples pack the brightly lit, homey space and extend out the door in what's always a long line. Carrying bread and plates of homemade olive oil, enthusiastic waiters guide diners through the exhaustive menu of Italian favorites. Build-your-own-pasta dishes topped with the house specialty pink sauce is popular, as is the thin-crust pizza.

Best Customer Service!!. This place makes you feel like you are a part of Mama D's family and that she's making dinner just for you. From the friendly staff and the awesome bread to start, to the homemade cookies when you finish your meal this place was a true gem.

I will go back!!

Wish she was my mama.. This place is just delicious. It's hearty and tasty, and the service makes it all worth the wait! Everytime you go, you'll get a coupon for some free thing for the next time you come. And the servers address you by name the entire time. Use your COZMO card for extra savings, if you have it.

Great Food and Friendly Service. I definitely have to agree w/ the previous critique..........this may be one of the closest things to mom's cooking! I've been in search of homestyle Italian food in LA for some time. Mama D's is definitely my favorite in town. The pasta's outstanding. One I'd recommend is the homemade ravioli. The pasta is rolled extra thin and fulled with an abundance of ricotta cheese and chicken (they also have cheese and beef as well). The pink sauce offered the perfect blend of cream and tartness (from the marinara). The only thing that topped the meal was the excellent service. Oh yeah, the garlic oil is to die for!

Just like home cooking!. Mama D's is a great South Bay treasure! The food is super tasty, lots of classic italian dishes plus special recipes unique to Mama's. And let's not leave out the bread - delicious! Plus the service is great and you feel like you're in a little italian cafe (not a americanized chain restaurant). Bon appetite!
