The Scene
This beachfront microbrewery might be small, but the garden packed with patrons downing tasty beers couldn't be any more inviting. Past the tiny tables, a copper-topped bar separates the drinkers from smiling bartenders and gigantic silver vats. The crowd consists of intimate groups of 20- and 30-somethings gathering over pitchers of beer.
The Draw
The drinks are definitely the focus at this watering hole, with mirrors throughout that advertise the dozens of specially made brews offered. The microbrew menu changes seasonally, offering tasty potables like El Porto Porter, Pier Pale Ale and Manhattan Beach Blonde. For a more robust selection, consider Rat Beach Red Ale or Bohemian Pilsner. If a cocktail is more your speed, try the house favorites: Painter's Potion boasts triple sec, grenadine, fresh juices and four kinds of rum, while the Cafe Manhattan would make Starbucks jealous, with its combination of coffee, Bailey's and whipped cream.

This is the only bar in Manhattan Beach where they put as much emphasis on the food as they do their beer. Their recent remodel updated their look and gave it a more hip feeling. The booths are a little cramped, but the food and beer make up for it. If you're looking for an outstanding gastropub, in a town filled with numerous restaurants, I highly recommend this one. I am sick of going to bars where the food is gross, greasy, and boring. If an ice cold beer, burger and sweet potato fries sound good to you, then this is the place for you. If not, they also feature fresh fish and martinis.
Pros: Great food and beer. Ideal location. Great atmosphere.
Cons: Parking. Most tables only seat up to 4.

I WENT TO THE MANHATTAN BEACH BREW CO, JUST THIS PAST THURSDAY AND HAD A GREAT TIME. MY SISTER AND I LOVED THE FOOD AND THE ATMOSPHERE. I ADMIT I WAS A LITTLE HESITANT ON EATING THERE BECAUSE THERE WAS HARDLY ANYONE IN THEIR, BUT AFTER WE SAT DOWN TO THE COMFY BOOTHS WE WERE AT EASE. I THINK MAYBE THERE WAS NO ONE IN THERE BECAUSE IT WAS AROUND 345PM, USUALLY SLOW EVERYWHERE AROUND THAT TIME. SO THE BARTENDER CAME OVER LESS THAN A MINUTE AFTER WE SAT, WHICH WAS GREAT CAUSE I HATE TO WAIT TO LONG. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AS WE ORDERED TWO MICRO-BREWS. I HAD A BEACH BLONDE, VERY TASTY, AND MY SISTER HAD A IPA , WHICH SHE THOUGHT WAS FANTASTIC. WE ORDERED SPIN ARTICHOKE DIP WHICH WAS GREAT, THE CHIPS THEY SERVED WITH IT WERE HOT AND FRESH. WE ORDERED ANOTHER ROUND OF BEERS, AND THEN OREDERED OUR FOOD, MIGHT I ADD HUGE PORTIONS. BURGER WITH MUSHROOMS AND CHESSE W/ VEGGIES FOR MY SIDE. VERY TASTY, EXCEPT THE BUNN WAS A LITTLE SOGGY. MY SISTER ORDERED MANHATTAN CLUB W/ CURLY FRIES THAT DISH WAS HUGE. WE TOOK THE CLUB HOME BECAUSE WE WERE SO FULL FROM THE APP, THE BEERS AND THE BURGER. BY THE TIME WE LEFT THERE WERE A LOT MORE PEOPLE IN THERE. THE BARTENDER WAS GREAT HE CHECKED BACK ON US SEVERAL TIMES, HE DIDN'T RUSH US BECAUSE WE THERE FOR AWHILE. I LOVE THIS PLACE, I WILL TOTALLY BE BACK. I WISH THEY HAD ROOM FOR A OUTSIDE PATIO, GREAT LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS LOVE THE BOOTHS.
