This family owned-and-operated, European-style boutique hotel has always displayed a quaint quality that its guests describe as charming, although finding a Victorian English setting practically across the street from a sprawling modern shopping center in a Southern California beach community can be a little disorienting ... and typical. It's just one more example of how the fusion of old and new, traditional and nouveau, has been embraced in the Southland.

Specials such as the Romance Package, which includes dinner and Champagne, as well as banquet rooms and gardens for weddings, are what the hotel is known for--a retreat within the city for those who adore the inn's fussy style. Rooms are furnished with authentic bronze, oak and carved marble antiques.
