LOVED it with Old owner..HATE it now. Went with a party of nine not knowing the ownership changed hands. Had a gift card for $400..plenty for non-drinkers, right? The Tempura Coconut Shrimp was what we came for but now was off the menu entirely. The waiter spilled the ice water tray on my handicapped aunt and cousin. Ended up ordering grissly steaks..at $38 buck a pop...TERRIBLE. Bill came to $370 with a "suggested" gratuity of $73. They wouldn't let us put the balance of $30 toward the gratuity. The wait staff were attentive but the food was absolutely inedible. The views were nice and we enjoyed it regardless because we were with family. Don't bother!

Used to be a must.... not so anymore!. Well over the years, this has always been a must event for my family. NOT anymore... The favorite menu items are all gone, the place seems more "worn" than it used to, and top it off, the prices are way beyond the food quality. Don't get me wrong the food isn't that bad but it IS over-priced. $26 for 3 pieces of fish and some soggy fries??? Service has dropped as well. From the moment we walked in the whole family felt pressured to get done and leave. Slow bread delivery, asking to take my dish while I still had my fork in my hand and food in my mouth and handing me the check BEFORE I was even asked if we wanted dessert. Force to valet park and now, in an attempt to "upscale the place, matrons in the bathroom, looking for tips... what, I can't get my own paper towel without being pimped for a tip?? $190 for two adults and two teenagers... Could have had a better dinner, and cheaper, at just about any chain restaurant.

Talk about Attitude!. If I could have given half a star I would have!

I have been to this place a couple of times and the last time did it for me!

We headed the place for breakfast got there at 10:40, at 10:55 a very rude waiter came to us and said that since it's almost 11 they won't serve breakfast. We tried explaining that we were waiving for you for at least 10 min but nobody got our order but no use. Then the attitude started. The coffee was pushed to our table, when mentioned that the cup has a lipstick smug on it, it was taken away and dropped loudly on the table next to us (which was no occupied). I asked for the Veggie omelet which supposed to have goat cheese. The goat cheese was substituted with American cheese without letting me know. Bacon was burned and bread was stale.

The manager passed by asking how everything was, after we explained, he said well we were not suppose to serve you breakfast at all BUT i will let the Chef know! and of course, no feedback after that.

Rude manager, rude waiter, bad service. Do NOT waste your time and money.

Why?. That's all I can ask, "Why?"

Why did you change your menu, why did you double your prices? One of the greatest attractions in Malibu has been decimated by corporate ownership, appetizers for three adults and a 2 year old were $125 with valet fees. Menu is very limited. Waitress was good, even if she did offer that the new ownership was a good thing. Maybe for her, but I won't be going back. Just this morning, my wife and I were discussing new carpet, but we realize it will have to wait; we ate at Gladstones this week!

Delicious!!. I've ordered almost every single item off the menu and have no complaint about any dish. This place is just truly awesome. I can go on and on about how delicious the food is, but you HAVE to try their baked salmon. Tender, juicy and filled with goodness. I'm really picky about seafood, but this place has surpassed my expectations every time. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing. Try the Live bay scallops, I will just say that off the bat. Other than that, it has a nice quiet atmosphere, this is no sports bar. Worth the visit.

Call this, NEW Gladstones.. Gladstones recently went with a more upscale look and I really enjoyed it. It now seems less like a casual beach place and more like a envisioned Malibu spot. The new menu is much more diverse now. I would give it a try even if you were a fan of the older Gladstones.

HORRIBLE, FAKE, SNOOTY AND A COMPLETE RIP OFF.. OK, I've been coming to Gladstones in the Palisades for years now and have always enjoyed bringing guests from out of town, visiting on holidays or just grabbing a few drinks with friends.

NEVER WILL I DO THIS AGAIN.

It seems that the lack luster imbeciles at SBE (Sam Nazarian) decided to take over this iconic classic and turn it into a heartless McRestaurant. Gone are the days of simple treasures such as a barrel of peanuts at the door, old fashioned and nautical inspired textures and decors, comfy booths, vintage art, photography, memories, awesome prices and variety.

Sam Nazarian truly failed here. He took what should of been an historic, rich and classic venue and turned it into a sudo-Vegas-Disneyworld-food court. The food is terrible, (much worse than it was before) way over priced, limited and downsized. The drinks went up about 50% in price and did I mention no more peanuts.

It looks like I'll have to go to Duke's up the street from now on.
