favorite admiral risty, wonderful views, full bar, awful everything, horrible food, recommend crab legs, romantic evening
Great Experience.
We''ve been to Admiral Risty on several occassions as a couple and with friends and family. Friends and family from out of town have commented on the good time and great food we shared at Admiral Risty. Most of the servers are fantastic.
Only disappointment was a not so great table for 2 location against the wall.
The fresh fish recommendations have always been outstanding!
We'll certainly be back!! Thank you.
Horrible food. This is not an inexpensive place, and our expectations were high. My spouse & I were talked into specials that put the bill well over $100 for both of us. The crab legs were inedible--spouse said the meat was tasteless and rubbery, and he loves crab. My salmon was mushy. I could have handled dry, or even underdone, but this was like baby food..yuck. The best thing about the meal was the salad and coffee. When we called the next day to complain (we were with friends who frequent the place alot, and didn't want to embarass them) it was clearly not to get a free meal, but the manager was cold and unresponsive, and didn't even offer to make good on our awful dinner. Stay away.
Delicious Seafood Great Ocean Sunset Views. Seafood by the bay... Admiral Risty is one of my favorites in the south bay. The restaurant features a full bar and features wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean. On the menu, recommend the crab legs. Perfect for a romantic evening in the South Bay.
Tasty food with 70's Character.. We had lunch on Sunday September 17. Nice view of the ocean. At night the view will be dark. Everyone was satisfied with their food. I too would say that the food is slightly over average. I had the halibut with almonds on it. It was pretty good and not over-cooked. Everyone got the same sides of fried potatoes and a steamed medley of vegetables. A small cup of fruit was served to all. Our server was good. I liked the ambience with all the seashell lights. Of course collecting those shells today is "prohibito". The restaurant was quiet, except for the two small children nearby who could make some really loud sounds. The parents thought that by talking quietly to them they would respond in kind. It didn't work.
Worst Service. During My dinner at this restuarant I have never experienced the disrespect I have gotton there. We were a party of 5 and sat expecting to have a beautiful evening. We where rushed. The lamb was served practicaly raw. The Filet Oscared was terrible. The waitress was terrible. She picked up a empty plastic wrapper from oyster crackers and put it on my girlfriends salad to take the plate. She wasn't finished. So The waitress just put her dirty fingers in the salad removed the plastic wrapper and put the salad back on the table. We contacted the Co Owner Wayne Judah. Who hung up on us several times and didn't even apologize. He was very rude along with his staff. I wouldn't recomend this restaurant to anyone. For $180 I could have got better service in a Mc Donalds. I rate this establishment ZERO.
Mixed Feelings. The food itself was slightly above average, nothing spectacular by any means. I had the "famous" halibut, and was happy with my choice, but not overwhelmed by any means. The atmosphere is very nice, cozy, quiet enough to talk to the person next to you, and great views. The wait staff did a great job as well. The value, however, left much to be desired. Two barely above average dinners and one drink each for over $85 including tip? Everything on the menu seemed to be about $10 overpriced. You may want to try it yourself, but I know I've had much better for much less in places like Redondo and Manhattan Beach.
Editorial Review. Traditional steakhouse fare, fresh fish and lobster served in casual atmosphere on Palos Verdes' picturesque scenic drive.
Wonderful!. Gorgeous ocean views, friendly waiters, and delicious food! What more can you ask for?!
