I like the wood cabin pub look and feel of the place. Plus, it is very close to the beach so you can go on the strand to digest after such a high calories dinner like that. Hell! you might just want to run it out on the strand and come for more later...
- Pros: Good Greasy American Food
- Cons: A little pricy
Worst ribs I have ever tasted!

My friend suggested we try this place as he went a few years ago and it was good. We went and had their ribs. The ribs had no taste, very bland. Also the towering onion rings--too fatty and greasy. My friend was surprised that the quality of the food went down south. Of course, we will never go back again. There are other places that serve better ribs. Search on this site for suggestions. For me I'm probably going to try JB's in Culver City.

Chicago Ribs in Redondo Beach is not the place to go for BBQ
by SurfGeek
I live in the Riviera Village in Redondo Beach within walking distance of this CFR restaurant. The first time I ordered food from there was delivery. I ordered beef and pork ribs, potato salad and the onion rings. The onion rings were good, but that was all. The ribs were obviously baked and not barbequed on a grill, then slathered with realively bland BBQ sauce. The pork ribs were the same, but no carmelized BBQ sauce on them, just the catsup-consistency sauce they used. I paid almost $50.00 and was very disappointed. I had such high hopes for this p[ace since there are no decent barbeque places near the Village.
The second time I had food there was in the restaurant itself. I noticed that the restaurant was less than half full even at dinner rush, but I ordered anyway. This time I had the tri-tip (which was very good) and an order of pork ribs and coleslaw. The slaw was good, but the ribs were a big dissapointment. Meat was not fully cooked, there was no evidence of grilling at all. They looked and tasted baked, with BBQ sauce poured over them as an afterthought.
This place is not worth your time, and will dissapoint you. The place calls itself Chicago for RIBS, and it doesnt come close to doing ribs well at all. Check out Lucilles in the Del Amo mall if you want REAL barbeque in the South Bay.
- Pros: Onion rings, coleslaw, potato skins, all of those are great.
- Cons: This is a BBQ restaurant and the ribs are the biggest dissapointment.
