best turkey chili ever!!!. I try to visit Cafe 50?s at least once a week! They have the greatest turkey chili I have ever had. It has grilled onions and cheese on top? I think last time I was there I had 2 bowels of it. Also I should say that their ranch dressing is good good good! You can go there have a beer, dinner, and spend less then 12 bucks.

Best Double Chocolate Milkshakes. I went to school very close to cafe 50's and went there often. I would try and avoid it during lunch time around 11-1pm, it gets really crowded. I love their shakes and Power Breakfast where I can get eggs, bacon or sausage, a large portion of hashbrowns and two pancakes for less than 6 bucks. The employees are so nice and I am always able to have a nice chat in the morning. The same employees make the experience a personal one for me. Another BIG plus for me, is that the restrooms, at least the woman's restroom, is always clean and well kept. I highly reccomend it you want to have a nice casual breakfast with someone, head on over to Cafe 50s.

NIGHTMARE!. I had the clam chowder and was up all night on the toliet... the best part is when I called the next morning to give them a heads up that the chowder was bad, one of the employees hung up on me!!!! Of course I was livid and called back and the same guy (heavy accent... mexican?) talked over me about being busy and what not, and I couldnt even get out my thoughts! Unbelieveable.

Slurp milkshakes and munch burgers to the sounds of Connie Francis, Paul Anka and Elvis.. The Scene
Cafe 50s is smartly attired in red vinyl, white formica, and chrome. The walls are plastered over with B-movie posters and ads of a bygone era, including a "More doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette!" advertisement. A quarter buys three tunes on the 1957 Seeburg jukebox loaded with oldies hits by the Big Bopper, Patsy Cline and Chuck Berry.

The Food
Since this is a diner, the sizzling burgers, crispy fries, and thick shakes are tried and true. It is not, however, a deli, a chophouse or a French restaurant. So stay far, far away from anything involving cold cuts, steak or sauteed spinach. The soda fountain is unparalleled and replete with classics from egg creams to vanilla Cokes. Have a Norman Rockwell moment sipping any one of the three dozen heavenly milkshakes. The chocolate-chip cookie shake is a startlingly spot-on liquid version of the baked good, and the very cherry bursts with maraschino.

Awesome shakes!. While parking is extremely limited, I like the long counter and decor. While much smaller than its' sister site in Santa Monica, this Cafe 50s still has their wide array of milkshakes! I love their chicken strips.

Nostalgia R Us. The walls are covered in mementos from the 1950s, well, that and a lot of grease. That's not to say you shouldn't eat here, just plan for a high cholesterol meal, that's all.

The breakfast specials are big and inexpensive. There's a good variety of items to choose from, all for under $4. Lunches and dinners are reasonably priced as well. The milkshakes are big and really sweet.
