truly good thincrust pizza, ok toppings, not so big place, yummy cheese ravioli, delicious salads, nice folks, good service
Fabulously Mediocre. Of all the awful pizza joints in town, this is the best of the worst, though it never really transcends mediocrity. Toppings are plentiful, grease factor is moderate, crust is about a C- on the chewiness/crispiness scale, cheese is appropriately gooey. There is absolutely nothing that stands out as particularly noteworthy - sauce is OK, toppings are fresh and OK tasting, cheese is OK. A decent value for the price, and a step above Pizza Hut. It's too bad Los Angeles is a wasteland for truly good pizza.
This place looked like a dump.... ... but the pizza was amazing! I was really impressed and I'm coming back! I got red peppers and chicken. Scrumptious. Don't let the crappy outside fool you. This place is the bomb!
Finally.... ... a gay man can finally get a good slice (of pizza) in LA! I stumbled on this place and have been back many times since!
Good local pizza chain. Always on the hunt for the best thin-crust pizza, we have become recent fans of Dagwood's in Venice. Delivery is fairly quick, and the nice folks on the phone do everything they can to accommodate special requests like easy-cheese or well-done. The salads are nicely sized and are made from fresh ingredients. If I had one complaing about Dagwood's, it would be that they don't sauce far enough out on the crust. I would definitely recommend Dagwood's to a friend if they are looking for tasty thin crust in Venice or Santa Monica.
AWESOME sandwiches! Great people and.....
These guys rock!
First the bread - they have the best sesame rolls I have ever had - so you are building a sandwich on a foundation of something great!
They have the very best Tuna sandwiches anywhere in Santa Monica!
We order for our office lots - one person has been having the Hot turkey sub for so long we all laugh. She says it is the best in all of LA... maybe California and possibly the world. They also have a really decent Chicken Fettucini, oh - oh and the tangerine chicken salad - that is a winner too!
OH - and for a treat - grab a cannoli!
And the staff are all wonderful!
Great pizza and salads. This is a great local chain (there are two). They have excellent pizza. You can choose your toppings and even request fat-free cheese. The salads are also delicious, epecially the avocado salad (add chicken and it's even better). They have pasta staples too, but I think the pizza, salads and sandwiches are better options. There are a couple small tables outside and some booths inside. It's super casual. Perfect after a day at the beach or just a low-key dinner.
Very Good!. Very good food. Very good service. Our family didn't know what we wanted, pulled up city search, and found Dagwood's! Very enjoyable, quick delivery, and helpful employees. I would definatly eat there again!!!
dagwood's saved my life. ok, so it saved my pizza-eating life, but you get the picture. i grew up in chicago and lived in nyc for years, so the pizza in l.a. was one big letdown... until i found dagwood's. i now want to have the place declared a national landmark.
East meets West. Who says you can't get real NY pizza in LA? And where else can you order quality wine by the bottle when you're too lazy to hit the market. Dagwoods delivers in more ways than the one. Every element of the pizza adds up to the best: Tangy sauce, blend of cheeses, gourmet toppings and even a stellar wine collection available for delivery from the new Santa Monica location. Check out their website for lunch time deals and specials that make dinner plans a slam dunk.
