Jake is an awesome barber! Finally somebody that gets it. After moving to the area I had a lot of trouble finding a decent barber. I got a lot of bad or mediocre cuts in Venice where I felt like I had to constantly be on guard in case they messed up my hair. I even had one guy shave the hairline next to my eyebrows - WTF?! Jake is a cool cat and will put you at ease right away. I consistently get good cuts from Jake, and I always know that when I get in his chair, I can just relax, cos he's got it covered and I'm gonna leave Sit Still looking good.

Bo Setlur. I came in weeks ago with a disaster on top of my head..After being a brunette for years I had decided to get some highlights in preparation for the summer which turned out to be a mistake. I called in Sit Still in hope someone could fix my hair before I returned to class.. I asked for a color expert and they referred me Bo Setlur.. I came in and immediately upon meeting Bo, I was excited! She took the time to understand the look I was going for and we both looked at pictures on her iPhone to make sure we were on the same page. What I was looking for was the soft ombre look and it is exactly what I got. My hair was damaged when I came in so she used a cream bleach instead, cut my ends and give me a whole new look.. While we were waiting for the color, we chatted about travels and different countries and I was very comfortable waiting... My hair turned SOOOOO BEAUTIFULLY !!!!!! I was so excited and so happy !!! She saved my hair and my morale that day! It also looked so healthy that no one could ever find out I had a bleach disaster the day before... She also took some pictures because she was also delighted of the results. !!! I will definitely keep coming back and I am very grateful to have found a hair dresser in Los Angeles. Want the natural, ombre, balayage look? See Jason!.
I was in desperate need of getting something done about my regrowth and wanted to go somewhere close to home. After researching salons in my area I called Sit Still to get an appointment that morning. I was in luck! 2 hours later I rolled up to the salon and was greeted by Jason soon after.
I've been getting a half head of highlights for a few years and go crazy when they grow out. My hair is super long and thick but I've been wanting a more natural look without entirely losing my blonde. Jason totally got what I was trying to achieve and worked with me in really cutting into my hair the way that I wanted and then toning down the blonde without entirely losing it.
Briefly, Jason first dry cut my hair and then painted on a lighter brown color to extend the regrowth into the length leaving the blonde ends. This now made my hair look more 'sunkist' opposed to that embarrassing grown-out two tone look.
He totally nailed ombre/balayage without it obviously being that. My hair looks more natural dirty/beach blonde than colors fading into one one another.
I absolutely loved what Jason did for me. I had been to two stylists before him over the past year to obtain this style and they both insisted I stick with blonde highlights and foils. Never again!
Not only did Jason's star styling here rock my world but so did the price. If you've never been here before you will get a super deal. I highly recommend this salon!!!

Love this salon!. I have been going to Sit Still for two years now and its the longest I have ever stayed with a salon! I come here for trims and Jen is amazing. I have been to many high end and overpriced salons, but Sit Still is by far the best and it is also affordable. I have really long hair and I always get nervous when I go to salons because I have had so many bad experiences. I am usually afraid that someone is going to chop all my hair off or give me a style I don't like. Jen always makes sure that I get what I want and makes my hair look great. I would recommend this salon to anyone!

Best Hair Salon in Venice/Santa Monica. Great Place! Everyone really knows hair. If you're looking for color, they are absolutely the best. It's comforting to know you can still get great service for great prices. Very easy to find, right on Main Street/Rose Ave. You'll never want to go anywhere else.

jumping up & down for sit still salon!!!.
had an unfortunate bang incident a while back... the stylist started the cut by chopping my bangs in half (NOT what i wanted!) i went to zac at sit still salon practically in tears - and he saved the day!!! actually got the bangs looking good for the growing out phase. i've been a devotee ever since!!!
have worked with a couple of the stylists there - each really good, with their own style & set of skills. but zac's my guy! latest feat - giving me a change-up on my go-to hairstyle with a couple swoops of a razor. a whole new - yet not new - thang! brilliant!
great ambience. welcoming staff. and ideal location! big thumbs up for sit still salon!!!

Zac is terrific!.
I love the way Zac at Sit Still cuts my hair!
A friend of mine first recommended him, saying he was "the only stylist who knows what to do with my hair". I feel the same way -- he takes my fine hair, prone to be limp and boring, and cuts it to be flattering, interesting, and just the right amount of sexy. He's the best stylist I've ever had!
And their Celtic Creme product is awesome for adding definition and softness to my loose curls.

Great hair cuts for yogis. For you yogis check out Sit Still next time you need a hair cut. Zac and Jennifer are awesome and its next to Exhale yoga studio on Main so you can downward dog before or after! Super friendly staff.

I fly in from London to get them to cut my hair!!. I love getting my hair cut here, it is always so much fun - great music, a brilliant cup of proper English tea AND I always come out with a brilliant hair cut. I live in London but I always wait until I am in LA so I can get my hair cut here.
