So happy.... ..to hear that Joe, Helle and Ania are back. I'm going to be returning as a customer within the month.
Sad. Used to be the best in Venice-MDR-Santa monica.....now a dingy hole in the wall. helle ran the business into the ground, sad because it was a venice landmark for 25 + years, and was awesome when Joe was there....it took a dumb woman to destroy a piece of Venice history. management at Golds says she abandoned the business and is in another country on welfare. Save your money, itll be closing

What happened to this place.....it used to be the happening place in Venice....the last I visited the Psycho manager Leslie was posting (notice all the posts by single posters?) disparaging the old owners, and now I visit and its run into the ground without a touch of personality...still better than getting laughed at on TV by the metrosexuals/bimbos at Sunset tan, but the owners should be ashamed for destroying a venice icon.
The only place that didnt burn my skin and my wallet :).
It's rare that you can say that the customer service you get from a business is constantly amazing.
they do everything possible to satisfy your needs.
they know their stuff...i highly recommend this place even if you have to drive a bit.

Diamond in the Rough. I have to admit that I love to tan and I am used to going to these places that are really expensive, until I found this diamond in the rough. I walked in and was shown around, explained how each bed worked and felt at ease with the girl that was helping me, AMY, she was so helpful and the most knowledgeable person I have ever met at a tanning salon. On top of feeling extremely welcome, the prices were also welcoming. I really suggest that everyone check this place out.
Much Better!!. I stopped going here about 3 years ago because I never felt like I knew what I was getting when I bought something, and the people there just sort of gave me the creeps. But, after my friend told me they changed ownership, I recently went back with her. The staff was so helpful and nice. After Leslie (loved her) explained their packages to me I get it now and there was totally no pressure involved like at the salon I had been going to. I don't know what those other people are talking about either because when I was in the owners were actually in the salon. And I mean honestly, have you seen the owner of Starbuck's hanging out in their stores all the time? But I love it here now and with the new renovation they're working on it can only get better.
A Diamond in the Rough. I've been going here for about a year off and on - switching between a few salons. It was very obvious when ownership changed because it instantly went to a professional environment with staff that knew how to get me that tan I wanted - FINALLY! I'm not a body builder and I used to feel intimitade by the staff and customers that go there. Now I feel very welcomed and treated like everyone else. I Love this place and now I won't go anywhere else! This is truly a diamond in the rough.
Tanning chain wrecks local landmark. Formerly Rio Tan, this shop has been a fave of Venice bodybuilders for nearly 20 years. Now, the Unique Tan chain has bought it, adding high pressure sales tactics and shell game pricing schemes more complex than cell phone packages. Parent company will not reveal its business address, or the name of owner. What are they hiding? I've been going there for 15 years, but the new owners are mean, and impossible. I'm moving on.
It rocks!!!. Love the staff, atmosphere, and all the tanning facilities they have to offer!;)
