In Short – A hundred years ago, the L.A. River was lined with wineries--only one remains today. A vaulted hall, stacked with wine barrels, is filled with downtown businessfolk and loft-dwelling artists eating cafeteria-style lunches. California-inspired dishes are tasty and pair with the house wines, available by the bottle or the glass. Penne pasta with salmon is paired with vodka sauce, while spinach-ricotta ravioli is flavored with a medley of herbs. –

For Peopel who like the whole wine thing!

by ArbyL

My girlfriend and I visited San Antonio Winery on valentine's day, 2009, for the first time. I am not a wine expert but find the idea extremely interesting. We got to take a tour of the whole place and found it exciting and educational.

As for wine tasting, since I like the dry reds I really liked one in particular, the San Simeon Petite Sirah 2004, which had a smokey taste to it. This was my first smokey wine I had ever tasted so I bought two bottles :)

I also liked and bought the San Simeon Syrah 2004. If you are in and around Los Angeles and get excited over the whole wine thing, then I highly recommend this place.

  • Pros: For valentine's day their wine tasting selection was limited :(
  • Cons: Great wine selection, Educational Tour
