Great margaritas, Good chips and salsa, Near Marina.
I love the coconut pineapple margaritas. The margaritas are perfect every time (virgin ones too). The chips and salsa are good too. It can get a bit loud especially if a good game is on. Great for group of friends to hang out. The bartenders were attentive. The (literally) flaming Jose Cuervo fajitas supremas are delicioso (shrimp, chicken and beef) with tortillas, guacamole beans and SWEET corn cake. Yummy! The Mexican Cesar Salad tastes good too and you can have it with or without grilled chicken.

Great Drinks!.
If you've been to one El Torito, you've been to them all-EXCEPT this one. Great location right on the water in the Marina. If you're looking for a fun and semi-cheap happy hour this is a great spot in the Marina. If I remember right, they have some sort of taco bar and endless chips/salsa.

If your out-of-towners want Mexican....
...and they really don't know what good Mexican food is, you can bring them here. Go on a sunny afternoon when you're not really hungry. Order the appetizer sampler, a big bowl of made-at-your table guacamole (this they do well) and a few margaritas and soak in the Southern California marina scene. You will have a pleasant experience.
As for the rest of their food... standard chain food. Gringo Mexican, California-style. Don't let the fact that there's a wait make you think the food will be better than it really is.
Mediocrity, thy name is El Torito.
