I ended up at Bartels' because another dealer could not fix my problem. They found the problem and fixed it for me right away. Thank you Bartels' esp to Kirk.

I was impressed with the sales Dept at Bartels', as they were very friendly, and my salesman seemed to take a personal interest in what bike was best for me ... I found their prices to be very competitive with the other dealers I visisted.

I see here that people have written nasty reviews of the service at Bartels Harley Davidson. I’m sure these people feel they had a bad experience there and were compelled to write to vent their dissatisfaction. Who can blame them? The truth is that for every one of them, there are a thousand happy people who got what they expected and went on their way only to come back again and again. I am one of these people. For twelve years now since I have been in California I have bought my Harleys and had them serviced at Bartels. Being a life long biker riding Harleys for thirty five years and having many friends in the local motorcycle world, my options to go a dozen other places are there for me. I don’t need them. I have a one stop place that is more than dependable. Bartels sales and service has always given me a feeling of family. As I go there frequently for bike service and many of the social and charity events they sponsor each year I have become friends with a large portion of their clientele. There are a lot of happy satisfied people in that group. Typically dissatisfaction comes from people with unrealistic expectations. I’m sorry that these disappointed people find it necessary to trash my friends. Perhaps they should try a little introspection. I have never seen anyone at Bartels come to work with a bad attitude to the customers. One thing I do know is, if you do happen to have a misunderstanding at Bartels, the owners and managers will do everything they can to be fair in making it right.

You really can’t ask for more.

Horrific service! Do not go to Bartels!

Do NOT bring your bike here for service! I brought my V-Rod here for service after the rear cylinder had stopped firing. After a week I was told the bike was fixed and ready to go. I was told that an after market power commander I had in place had failed. I expressed my concern to them that the power commander was not the problem as I had tested it prior to bringing the bike in and it had been working properly. None the less I was assured that it was the problem and the bike was ready to go.

I show up at the dealership and am given a bill for $750 which I go pay while they roll my bike out. I return to the service department to hear a bike in the back attempting to start. After 20 minutes or so I am told that my bike isn't fixed after all and will have to stay over night but they will have a mechanic on it first thing in the morning.

This begins 2 weeks of no communication from the dealership. I receive no calls at all and every time I call them I am told "we got busy today and didn't have time for your bike" or "we are waiting to hear back from the factory" or even "yea, we forgot about your bike today". After 2 weeks of this they finally tell me I need a valve job and it will take a week. I attempt to get them to hurry up a bit since they've already had it for 3 weeks but with no luck.

I leave them alone for a week (my mistake) and call them exactly a week later having heard nothing. I ask them if my bike is ready and I am told "yea, we're still waiting to get the heads to the mechanic. We've been really slammed." When I ask them well when will my bike be done the service manager replies "I dunno".

At this point I have had my bike there for a month and am being told they are too busy with everyone else to deal with my bike. I contacted the owner and am told that not only does he not know when the bike will be done, but THEY HAVEN'T ACTUALLY STARTED WORKING ON IT YET! He tells me that the service manager was probably knew I would be pissed that they haven't worked on it yet and just didn't want to tell me. I tell him not too have them touch my bike and I will be picking it up the next day.

I head over to the dealership the next day with a friends truck and have to wait about a half hour before they will bring my bike out. The POS service manager rolls it out and I see that my air cleaner box cover is missing! After asking for the part I am told "it wasn't there when you brought it in" we go back and forth for several minutes with him even telling me "maybe you took it home with you. You should go check." He finally goes scurrying off and comes back with the cover about 10 minutes later.

To sum this up....AVOID BARTELS HARLEY DAVIDSON LIKE THE DAMN PLAGUE! I will never ever again set foot on their property and unless HD corporate does something to make this right with me they will never see another penny of my money again. Do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT GO TO BARTELS!

Meh.... Venice fashion posh trap!

Uhhhhm, where to start, if you need to have a bolt tightened or some other emegency service feel free to stop here.. But I wouldn't shop here ever, If you want to have a service representative asking why are you taking the bread out of his mouth when you ask for suggestions about custom made mods feel free to stop here, If you want to see showcase of Venice rich hipsters showing off on barely usable bikes you would curse your ass after riding them for half a mile go for it. If, asking for a bargain price when buying a band new bike you have the sales rep tell you "why should we, i can sell it to whoever of thse a**sho**s down the street for th full MSRP not a penny off" my first impression is that something is very wrong.

Nothing wrong on a rugged biker attitude but these guys made a craft out of it, acting up as a bunch of bad boys hanging out there and barely nodding when addressed.

It's all very Venice overall, If you ever lived/worked there you'll have an idea on how messed up the beach, prius, yoga, whole food culture is. If you like it you'll feel at home here!

As a suggestion go to the Glendale or ,if you want to stretch it a bit, go to the Pomona dealer, they are fantastic, they would definitely be my first choice if I need buying a new HOG. Antelope Valley is very nice too! Go pretty much wherever else but here!
