Very high Roy factor.
Ocean Echo is among the best places in Venice to see Roy. Not only does Roy own & frequent this shop, but he can often be seen surfing the nearby pier in his trademark squid lid. Do not be intimidated by Roy. Simply approach him and say hello. Roy is a man of diginity and honor, a man for whom surfing is both sport and means of meditation. In the distance you do few turns, Roy completes many.
Again, Ocean Echo is the epicenter of Roy. Roy to the world.

That strange echo sounds like beachwear, beachwear, beachwear..
In Short
Located next to the Washington Street Pier, everything about this fun little store screams "beach"--from the surf music pumping through the house stereo to the sun-n-surf accouterments that fill the racks and shelves. If it's beach-related, Ocean Echo stocks it--from flip-flops, fins and snorkels to shades and sunscreen. The walls are decked out with Hawaiian shirts and surfboards. Parents in search of seaside activities to keep the kids occupied will find various diversions like Smashball.

Great Surf Shop. Patient staff helped me find a wetsuit. There was none of the attitude that's sometimes found at local shops. Just friendly advise.
