Boy, am i glad i tried this place. I was driving in the area which i don't really know looking for something decent. After looking at the reviews i decided to give this place a try. Their pizza has truly surpassed my expectations. I wish they had another location close to my house.

Tiny place, great pizza. I got a medium deluxe pizza last Thursday night and was very good. The pizza had tons of ingredients with homemade pie and marinara sauce. My bf like it so much that next time I will order large pizza because even though the pie was pretty big he almost finished the pizza by himself. I have learned that I can call for pick up and this way I save a 20 minutes waiting time for the pizza to be ready. The people working there are very nice and try to help you with your order as much as they can.

They are open on Friday's and Saturday's till 2am!

omg!!! i want some more. hands down!! the best pizza in Playa del Rey. didnt have to pay extra for all that cheeeessse and the lady at the register was fast and efficient. One slice of cheese pizza and I was in heaven. amazingly good recipe :)

Plenty of choices of great food. Move to the neighborhood a couple of months ago from East Coast. While taking gas a month or so ago I saw across the street tiny reddish restaurant. They call themselves Hanks and they have been in Playa del Rey for over 40 years now. Longer than I have lived. Anyway they have great variety of foods: lover their pizza (deluxe and pesto are my favorites), I am huge fan of their calzone and pastrami sub with cheese. Last time I tried margarita pizza on wheat dough. It was great!!!! The wheat dough does not rise like a regular one but I am fan of the thin crust so I loved it. And of course the large pizza with a couple of topping comes with fresh garden salad. I take it with Italian dressing but they have other choices too. Be aware though. Place is tiny so better order for pick up or delivery.

Small place with the great calzone. I drive by Hanks everyday and last Thursday it was the first time I stop to get something to eat. It was raining cats and dogs. I was hungry and cold and had some time till I start work so I said to myself why not to try this place. So I stop and did not know what do order. Their menu is huge. They have pasta, salads, subs etc. and of course pizza and calzone. I decide to go with calzone since I had all night ahead of me and did not want to work on an empty stomach. I ordered medium calzone with pepperoni, mushrooms and sausage. I had to wait 22 minutes for my calzone but boy it was worth it. I eat calzone at least once a week and this one was the best ever. The ricotta cheese tasted like ricotta not like white fake stuff and the calzone was huge. I will be ordering from them but next time when I do so I will call for pick up so I would not need to waste time to wait for my food.

Good food-long wait. Cozy mom-n-pop- pizza joint with a little italy feel. Pizza is unique and comes with a generous

amount of cheese. Call ahead though. There's always at least a 10 minute wait on everything.

Menu with lots of variety, great service. I like the pizza here... it's not as greasy as most places. It tastes like pizza you would make at home. The sauce is very tangy. Streak sandwich, though, is really wonderful. The meat is perfectly seasoned and the cuts are really good. Much better than you would expect to get in a sandwich.

ok pizza, pastas not bad. The pizza here is average, certainly not as good as some of the places within 1/2 mile of Hanks, though the price is right. Only ate here once for obvious reasons.
