California's original soft-serve ice cream parlor dishes out burgers, fries and other fast American fare in a retro, friendly setting..
In Short
Often described as California's first fast-food chain, Fosters Freeze has been a Golden Statetradition since 1946. That was when George Foster opened his first eponymous eatery at this location in Inglewood (which hasn't changed much since it opened) and introduced the soft serve cone. The sweet, swirly concoction became so popular that he opened a chain of restaurants. Since then, the menu has grown to include other soft serve treats--parfaits, banana splits and Twisters--as well as made-to-order hamburgers, fries, chicken sandwiches and fish filet.
